Pumpkins and Pirates and Cowboys... Oh my! Our dream Disney TR!

So we are going to Universal (his choice not mine, trust me...) for 2 days of our trip.

Thanks to talking to the great CM's I know DBF's weight should not be an issue at the parks.

After Six Flags and him not being able to ride the rides he really wanted. He is really depressed about it... He has lost some weight over the last couple of months and the trip just discouraged him. He is trying hard to lose weight too, and he is doing so well.

I called Universal's Customer service line to ask similar questions regarding their rides.

I got "Well he has four months to lose weight and then you don't have to worry."

Excuse me??? That was totally not the question I asked....

Needless to say they got an earfull from me, and DBF is not going to find out about todays conversation with them, because he was sad enough to find out the coaster he couldnt go on was voted number 1 in the country.

So, does anyone here know whether or not Universal rides are friendly to someone who is "pooh sized"?

:furious:

You know, between you and LL, I've become so disgusted with the lack of accomodation for people who are "pooh-sized." Sheesh, are we not all human?

So I'm mad on your behalf.

And stepping off my soapbox...thud...

I don't know about the rides there, hon, because I don't truly remember. I've been once but I can't really remember what sizes they accomodated. I hope someone can answer in a helpful way!:goodvibes

:furious: :furious: :furious: I am ENRAGED that you got that comment. Did you ask to speak to their supervisor? People come in all shapes, sizes and colors...did they miss that day in Kindergarten??

Thanks for being supportive TK!

I am very angry on your behalf!!! :headache:

I have no idea about Universal because I won't go. It's not Disney quality. As can be seen by their customer service jerks.

I think allearsnet has an article about Universal that might help -- I saw it when I was on there earlier today.

You know, I think I'm hyper-sensitive on this issue. My daddy is a big ole teddy bear. That's how I think of him. But it's typical in his Italian family that people are a bit larger than standard...and truthfully, it's never changed how much I LOVE HIM! Do I worry about his health? Yes. But do I appreciate every day? Absolutely. My Granddad was super skinny, but smoked. He died of a heart attack, and I had always thought we would lose him to lung cancer. Now, I know smoking could have contributed to the heart attack, but my point is, you just never know. And that's why it's sooooo important to enjoy life, and what you have. And to learn to be happy with yourself. Because life is just too short for me to keep worrying about the fact that my butt will never ever be the same as it was when I first met my DH, and before I had DS. Too many happy food memories and life changes have contributed to its bulk, and I'm proud of them. That's right, you heard it first here. I am proud of my big ole...well, you know.

Hijack over.

:furious: My jaw literally dropped when I read this. How do such inconsiderate people end up working in customer service?

But sorry, sweetie, I can't help with how well Universal accommodates the "pooh-sized." I've only been to the CA one, and even that was 14 years ago.

That one's on my iPod! :thumbsup2

God, I LOVED that song! And seriously, I just interrupted DH's work story to relate this whole banter to him...and am now laughing hysterically and crying.

CP has Pour Some Sugar on Me on her IPod! I LOVE IT!:rotfl2:

You should see me when it plays in the car -- all head banging in the mini-van.

'Cause I am cool like that! :thumbsup2
