In MA you can pump your own gas.

So, how much higher per gallon is the gas where there is no self service? The last station I knew of around here that was full service charged about 20 cents more per gallon - of course that is when gasoline was $1.35 for full service.

I love not pumping my own gas. I always go into a bit of a panic when I visit another state and have to put my own gas in. And guess what, it's cheaper here in nj where they pump it for me then most other border states.
That's because the state gas tax is 11.4 cents per gallon higher in PA, 8.5 cents higher in DE, 9 cents higher in Maryland, and 15.15 cents per gallon higher in NY. At 14.5 cents per gallon, New Jersey has the fourth lowest state gas tax in the US. (Georgia is the lowest at 7.5 cents per gallon, and Wisconsin is the highest at 31.1 cents per gallon.)Originally posted by Cindy B
ITs not any higher in NJ. IN fact, its lower than self serve states of PA, and DE.
After you adjust for the tax difference, it looks like you are paying around 5 cents per gallon to have someone pump it for you. (Of course, a true comparison would have to account for many other factors, as well.) That seems pretty cheap to me. At stations that have both, the difference is a LOT more than 5 cents.I pay about $1.88 for full serve regular. Its about $1.93/1.95 in PA
