HI everyone,

So I am dying to have a pulled pork sandwich (for some reason that are not in any of the restaurants where I live :confused3 and home made just isn't the same;) )

So my question is, where is the best place to get a pulled pork sandwich in the "world"???

Thanks for your suggestions everyone, I'm so excited!!

Wilderness Canyon Cafe. Get the skillet. The pulled pork was awesome as were the ribs.

Capt'n Cooks at the Polynesian has a wonderful pulled pork sandwich. Since it is counter service, it is very affordable and just delicious! I like the cole slaw they put on the sandwich. It is very sharp and tangy, just makes the sandwich sing!

For some reason DH and I were on a "pig sandwich" quest on our trip last January. LOL
We found great pulled pork sandwiches at ESPN and Big River Brewery at the Boardwalk and a delicious one at the Flame Tree BBQ/Animal Kingdom. IMHO the best we had was the ESPN one but all were very very tasty!

(and I think we had them at several other locations too, but these places really stood out to us!)

Did you happen to do the one at Pecos Bills? I just remembered this one and it was very, very good. We had so much pork in one sandwich, that we could have made 3 sandwiches out of it!! It was excellent.

Oh I second this!!! The Pulled Pork sandwich is so delicious as are the Polynesian chips that come with it...YUM! It was a very large portion I might add.

My DH had it at Cosmic Rays and Flame Tree! Both places were good.

FYI, Territory Lounge has a delicious Pulled Pork flatbread pizza!!!!:cool1:

This has now become a must have for DH & I every trip.

I love the pulled pork sandwich at Flame Tree! Especially w/a side of onion rings. :thumbsup2

With them offered at so many places...pulled pork is most likely made in their central commissary and then distributed every morning to each of the above restaurants ...with some differences in the final touchs of how it is served.

Flame tree BBQ has a pretty decent one. The sauce was good and had a great (but not overpowering) smokey flavor.

The only one I've had is at Kona Cafe. It was excellent.

Get the hot barbecue sauce.

Having lived in the self proclaimed barbecue capitol for a number of years and competing on a team in the annual championship, I have eaten a lot of pulled pork. (I also like the chopped which give you some of the crunchy outside bits ala Calvin Trillan.) I have had pulled pork at a couple of different places. I have to agree with the PP that it is likely cooked centrally for most locations. There is no evidence of a smoker in any of the places I have eaten them. The meat itself doesn't have much smoke flavor at all. There is liquid smoke added to the sauce to add some oomph. That is fairly common.

Now that critique doesn't stop me from eating them. I eat at least one each trip and sometimes two. I happen to love barbecue. (Now I know what I am having for lunch today.)

I haven't eaten at Flame Tree. Several posters here have lauded their sandwich and I understand that they have a smoker on site. I'll have to check it out.

I had the pull pork sandwich at Whispering Canyon Cafe in June and LOVED it!! It was really good! I also had one at the House of Blues before the Cirque du Soleil show, and it was also really good!

I definitely plan to return to WCC on our next trip! I may have to try some of these others!
