Puff Pastry for Pie Top

I have a frozen pie crust (just the bottom) I need to use. I also have a sheet of puff pastry. Can I use the puff pastry as the pie crust top? I'm not really familiar with puff pastry, so I don't know if it would be too puffy.

I wouldn't. It's very delicate and will likely burn before the pie is done. I'd go get some ready-made pie crust for the top if you don't want to make some yourself.

Thanks for the advice. I'm making a cherry pie and might do a crumb top instead. I want to make the pie today and don't plan on going to the store.
