Puerto Vallarta Warning and ?

I got a call from my bank today about purchases made TODAY in Puerto Vallarta. We were there 3 weeks ago aboard the Wonder. Apparently someone used my credit card numbers today to purchase a 2300.00 meal at a restaurant and almost 700.00 at an optical shop. I only used my credit card once in PV at a restaurant Disney recommends. They only recommend two and this one was Si Senor. I would like to get a hold of the Cruise Director and let him know that this happened. I was told I am not responsible but still they should not be telling people to go there. Don't want this to happen to anyone else! BTY, it was the Disney card that I used! The meal was a lot more expensive than I thought it would be (lunch) so I had to use the card.

Does anyone have an email for the cruise director or whoever I should report this to?

Before people boycott that particular establishment, bear in mind, that someone completely unconnected with the restaurant could have tampered with the payment equipment.

I once had my card skimmed at a Starbucks franchise connected to my employer. Turns out a fraudster had managed to switch around the card machine, and skimmed many peoples cards.

Just wanted to say that incase it wasn't the restaurants fault. However, I highly recommend people use cash just to make sure.

Skimming happen's everywhere possible as UK-Simon said.

Since DCL can't stop criminal's working aboard the ship's (apparently) then it could happen anywhere.

Best bet is the advice about contacting your bank beforehand with date's/ locations, and keep an eye on your bill.

Glad you were reimbursed kdhewson, and do let DCL know so they can inform the restaurant they have a thief and or security breach, and then monitor the restaurant for any other report's or irregular activity.

Why so you can get robbed and all of your cash taken? Good luck on trying to get your bank to refund your cash. Always use your credit card and take almost no cash with you. Like the OP said. They do not have to pay any of the bogus charges.

Never use cash. I always use a credit card. I never have to pay when someone else uses it. Yes Bank of America has to issue me a new card number every year but it is not my problem it is the bank's problem.
