Publix Questions (Thanksgiving & placing orders)

I guess this is a two part question....

First, does anyone have the link to the Thanksgiving offerings on the Publix website? I know they used to have such a page....

Second, I think I vaguely remember someone mentioning that you can place your grocery order before arriving in Orlando & then just pick it up at (one) of the Publix supermarkets... I don't remember which Publix this was at... does anyone remember the details?? Please???

I think the advance orders were for Albertson's....

As far as thanksgiving...I don't know.

Anyone know what stores will be open on Thanksgiving? Just started considering ordering a small Thanksgiving meal...but we won't be arriving until that day.

All the supermarkets have web sites . They will tell you which ones are open and the hours.

I too, would be interested in hearing from anyone who has placed an advance order at Albertsons and then picked it up. How did you like it? Thanks!

I did a Publix in Atlanta last year for Christmas Dinner. Food was fine and was ready when it was suppose to be.

We will be arriving on Friday. do you think we can order a thanksgiving dinner from somewher on Friday?

I was in Disney last week and stopped in the new Public located on Vineland Ave., which is near Little Lake Byran and International Drive. It is the new the one. Specifically, I asked them if they did Thanksgiving Dinner and how long in advance they needed the order. Public does do Thanksgiving and they provided me with a broschure of what is offered. In addition they said it is best to order five to seven days in advance.

I don't know their web site ; however, I would think they would send the broschure if you contact them.

We ordered from Publix last year for Thanksgiving when we were in Vero. I called the resort, and they gave me the store phone number. They offered packages, that included the basics like a turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and then you could add on from there. If I remember right the basic package was around $35 and with our add on's it came to around $60. It was all packaged nicely with instructions.

We had to pick it on on Wed because they were closed on Thursday.

We're driving. I suppose I could get a meal from home and bring it in a cooler. We do have a ps for dinner, but its not what we really wanted so I'm trying to think of other options. The main thing holding me back from having our meal in our room is that we'll be in a studio!

We ordered T'giving dinner from Publix last year. We ordered on the Friday before but they said they would take orders up until Monday. The dinner was picked up on Wed. The Turkey had to be reheated for a couple of hours to get it hot. A pop-up timer was included to insert into the turkey. We got the turkey, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, rolls,green beans with the package and added sweet potato casserole, desserts, cider and we had a great meal with the required leftovers to be enjoyed the next day.
I don't know how you could reheat the meal in a studio as an oven was needed to heat the turkey.
In 1999 OKW and BWV offered a catered meal delivered to your villa, hot and ready to eat at your requested time and it was great. The stopped offering it and I miss it.

Our family reunion of 14 will be doing a Publix T-day dinner. I called them 2 weeks ago for menu and prices for our group size ...

$59.99 for 16-18 lb. turkey, 6.5 lb. dressing, 6.5 lb. mashed potatoes, 2 qt. gravy, 2 lb. cranberry/orange relish.

Add-ons would be $5.99 for 2.5 lb. casserole (choiceof green beans, corn or sweet potato) and $5.99 for 10" pumpkin pie.

We'll pick up rolls and ice cream while we're there. They require minimum of 3 days notice and pick-up is on Wednesday (closed on T-day). Everything is fully cooked and reheating directions are inlcuded.

We originally had PS for 'Ohana mid-afternoon, but this way is less expensive and we have more flexibility of when we want to eat. Hope this helps!
