Pts usage question...

Here's the scenario....I am planning a trip in Oct '06. Have a June UY. I will have 125 avail. pts for 2006, but will need 189 for the trip. So need to borrow 64 from '07. I will be booking the trip late this month, at my 11 mo. window. Am I going to be able to borrow those 64 pts from 2007? Or should I try to buy some pts from someone here and have them transferred? I would rather not have to do that since we aren't traveling in '07. Thanks for any insights.

Yes - you will be able to borrow for your October 2006 trip.

If you have a June use year, an October 2006 falls with your 2006 use year (6/1/2006 - 5/31/2007). Since you can borrow from the nexr use year, you may borrow points from your 2007 use year for that 2006 use year trip.

I'm just a few days away from booking our '06 October trip, and it's going to be with all '07 points. The Members Cruise left us point poor in '06! I only hope our relatives don't back out, but I did ask, and they accepted and I want the sv fewer points at the BWV, so I'm taking the chance and borrowing.

Our use year is also June.

We booked a trip for Mar '06 for the 4 of us plus our nanny in a two bedroom. I already extended an invitation to my sister's family and my mom and her new husband for Sept `06 (that's 10 people).. Yesterday I started stressing about whether I will be able to borrow 2007 points when I try to book the Sept trip in Feb (before my June use date..)

Based on the answers here, I think I'll be fine borrowing. Phew!

I'm running out of points and the ink hasn't even dried on our contract!

This is a point that confuses new members more than anything else. Just remember that points usage is based on the points available on the date of your stay, not when you make the reservation. So if the stay is in your 2006 use year, you can use banked 2005, current 2006, borrowed 2007, regardless of when you call for the reservation.
