PTR JULY 2012: I talked my way into another Disney Day! 6-30

That is strange about the whooping cough.

Cool soccer pictures and experiences for the girls!

Can't wait to try the new Agent P mission! That's going to be very fun!

You are right -- March has come to a screeching halt. I can't believe we aren't even at the halfway mark yet.

hey, Debby! Joining in.

WOWzers!! :lmao: I can't believe you got airfare for 4 for only $748!! That is an incredible deal.

When I was looking for my July trip, the cheapest non-stop flight for the times I wanted (not Oh God early or 9pm at night) were $250+/pp and now they are $348 and that doesn't include baggage fees. (All direct flights from Dulles Airport were stopped except United).

So we are not flying (taking Autotrain with roomette and it is cheaper, plus we have our car that way).

I love AKV!! I know it is a lot darker than the other resorts but also remember it is summer and you are going to get plenty of sun and heat when you go outside, so having the cooler, darker room can be a bonus!

Is SpectroMagic confirmed? I only heard rumors that it might come back but no official dates.

Also, you can add Phineas and Ferb to replace Kim Possible to your list for summer.

Also, SotMK game at MK is new. We played this in January and had a lot of fun with it.

I personally am so excited about the change to KP missions. I think Agent P is going to be perfect!!!:dance3:

Hi Debby!
I cannot believe how much older Emma & Hannah look now!
They are so pretty & I love their hair styles :cutie:
I'm looking forward to reading your PTR & especially your pictures of the new MK area when you get back.
I did not realize that Test Track was going to be refurbed this year until I read your post last night :sad1:
That's Levi's favorite ride.

Hello am happy to read that California Grill is being included in your plans as I loved our meal at this place - it was delicious! :)

Love the pics of the cutie and the girls playing football - am glad they are doing well :thumbsup2

I feel like March has picked up speed again. I hope it continues! I hope you are finding it is moving quicker also!

The airfare is awesome, but keep in mind that it was a credit of about $105 per person that got us there!

I agree that the dark rooms make it cooler for summer!

I'm not sure if we will do Sourcers or not. I'm going to see if the girls are up to it. I am curious about it, but it seems that we never have enough time...we did Kim Possible before, but I don't know if we will do Agent P. The girls aren't P and F fans.

I read about Spectro on a reliable site. As soon as I hear dates, I will share (unless you hear dates before me.)

I personally am so excited about the change to KP missions. I think Agent P is going to be perfect!!!:dance3:

I wish we were fans of P and F... But I am excited for everyone else!

I am glad you are reading along! It is amazing how quickly they grow up, isn't it? The new test track sounds like it will be terrific; even though I can't quite figure it out.

Thanks! We haven't eaten at CG yet, so I certainly want to try it. The menu doesn't much appeal to me, but there are a couple of nonexciting dishes that I would eat.

Finally caught up Debby! The girls are looking so grown up! Great deal on the airfare - we are flying this summer too, got a good deal on Southwest.

Enjoy the dining plan while it works. We had "free" dining last summer - ate at some great restaurants but I think we spend a LOT more than we would have otherwise. DH has put an end to the dining plan for awhile. With 4 "adults" it is just too pricey. We are going to do Cali Grill this summer though - DD is graduating high school and that was her special request to celebrate.

We have a couple of other trips planned too - we are driving down for Spring Break - leaving here March 30th. Then, I am going in May for a week - I recently became a travel agent - specializing in Disney!!! So, I am going down for an Agent Education Program. Three trips between now and July, I am quite excited. :woohoo:

I'm glad the girls are having such fun playing soccer. Both my boys played, and it was a lot of fun to watch.

I think the Agent P missions are going to be a big hit!

We just started our double digit dancing yesterday, so we still have a while to wait. We'll just have to put a little dose of Disney in real life when we can while we wait. :wizard: Are you going to see Chimpanzee, by any chance? That'll be a nice little Disney something to do.

Hi Deb!

I just wanted to stop by and say hi! :)

The girls and I just returned from our trip - and now I am playing catch up...

It looks like you got an awesome deal on airfare! Congrats on that! :lovestruc

My girls also played soccer for several years - it's such a great sport - I am so sad to not have them in it any longer. They are at the age where it's really competitive - and they just like to play for the pure enjoyment of it...

Can't wait to hear about more of your plans. :)

I am hoping to start my TR soon - I just need to come up with a title - that seems to be holding me back. As soon as I have that - I'll be golden. :)

D~

I have no idea about any of those soccer teams or soccer people from your post, but it looks like a fun time! And, I'm sure the girls really love those cute soccer fellas! ;)

Weird about the whooping cough. You would think there would be a blood test or throat swab thingy, or something! I'm sure it unnerved you for a while - I know it would me! :scared1:

It's about time the updated the whole Kim Possible thing. Do kids even know who she is anymore? DD likes P&F, but we don't let her watch it much. We are kinda stingy on cartoon time... But Friday and Saturday nights she gets to watch a Disney movie! :lovestruc

How exciting to be leaving in two weeks and then again in two months and then two more months!!!! :yay: If I won the lottery, I might be a Disney planner. Right now, I need to teach to pay for the Disney trips. ;) Maybe when I retire...

Very cool that your daughter wants to celebrate at CG! Is she all set for which college? I keep asking my students from last year, and they haven't decided. Some are between two choices. It surprises me that they haven't needed to commit yet. Then again it was probably a month ago that I talked to any of them, so maybe they have. :upsidedow

I'll have to reread my post about the dining plan. The girls turned 10 in February so we aren't doing it. It would be way more than what we'd spend on food.

Your time is going to fly!

I think the Agent P is going to be a big hit too! I think P and F are cute. I haven't heard of Chimpanzee...I'll investigate. I did hear a great review of John Carter, so I might take hubby to see it.

I am excited to see the Hunger Games (certainly not Disney.)

I always struggle with the title thing too!

Was your trip wonderful? Your tr was quite busy while you were gone. I didn't jump into the party; I just sat in the corner amused. I think I read somewhere that one of the girls was sick. I hope it was short lived.

The girls play travel soccer so it is pretty competitive. They are on the "C" team for our club, and try outs are coming up next month. We are hoping they move up to the "B" team. They really enjoy it; I hope they continue to, because dh sure does too. :rolleyes1

They are secretly into boys. I accidently found out about ones crush and she cried from embarrassment. I know the other has a crush but it was second hand info. :rotfl:

There is a swab test for pertussis. According to the LPN at the peds office, they avoid giving the text when possible as it reaches far into their nose, down their throat. My friend's son reported to me that the test wasn't bad, so I don't know what to believe... It may be that the doctor's office doesn't want to report an epidemic. (Two cases are an epidemic...) I really wasn't worried other than them possibly having to be quarantined for five days...it was/ is state testing week at school and for me to miss for five days was scary!

Luckily, I haven't had to limit tv too much. The girls would rather be outside playing. There are some days that they veg in front of the tv, (usually watching some type of HGTV marathon... hahaha) and I am happy to see them not in motion.

I may have misread your post on the dining plan, I was reading through quickly to catch up! The price has gotten really out of hand, even with the refillable mugs thrown in now.

My daughter is going to Clarion. Last spring we went for a visit and she fell in love with it. Since she is going for early childhood education, the state schools are the best option. She also was accepted to Edinboro. She heard very early (Sept. 15) and once she got in to Clarion she stopped sending applications.

I am very lucky to be able to be a travel agent. It works really well since it is home based. I absolutely love it!

Just read your whole PTR! I am subbing right now so I don't lose it like I lost your Dec TR. I didn't know you teach sophomores, too. My oldest DD is a sophomore and she loves English so much that she is going into AP Lang next year. I'll be there for a week this summer, too. I'm not sure when yet, though. We're still debating on our summer travel. I'm in the same boat as you-- both kids over age 10. The buffets get so pricey. We only do 1 or 2 now per year. I'm so looking forward to all of the changes. I can't wait to see the new FL and I'm so excited for Spectro to be returning. I never appreciated it while it was there, but ever since it left, I watch it on Youtube constantly. Gannon is a cutie pie! Too funny about the girls wanting nothing to do with him. My girls are the complete opposite when it comes to babies. One is better than the other with them, however. That's all I'm going to say about that.:scared1:
Great pics of the girls playing soccer! About the pics, I get the ones I care about developed. Pics of objects, I don't care for too much and I just upload Photobucket. If something happened to those, it wouldn't be the end of the world.

I completely understand about scanning to get caught up - that July board was a task to try to get caught up!

I squeezed in buffets in our last trip with the dining plan. Aside from possibly breakfast buffets, we won't be doing any others too soon. The girls and I do not eat enough to warrant the cost. Dh can eat enough, but prefers not too. :rotfl:

I am glad dd was able to decide easily and was accepted early without having to experience the waiting anxiety.

Welcome! Thanks for catching up! I look forward to hearing about your daughter's Lang Comp course (I guess this means we must be friends from now on...:thumbsup2). I love teaching the Lang Comp. It is certainly easier when the kids come with a background. We offer a Pre-AP 10 to help establish the background. Some kids sign up without it though, and have no idea what they are in for. If your dd's school doesn't have the preAP, the kids should all come with the same background.

It's funny that one of your girls is better with babies while they both enjoy them!

Thanks for coming along for the ride.

Welcome! So, when you have a chance, tell me a little about yourself. Since I am not looking at the spot with a ticker, I'll have to go back and see if you have a PTR or TR. ;)

I've stalled in the planning dept. I don't know why but I am having planner's block...

Instead, I will share someone else's story with you. :lmao:

A friend of mine who I teach with is headed to Disney in May with her family and SIL's family. They are staying at someone's timeshare.

I asked her about planning. She mentioned wanting to do a character breakfast. I said, um, you might have trouble with that. You need to get on it, yesterday!!! The more I talked to her the more I realized she hadn't planned anything. She said she was starting to itch from nerves. I said, I am much more nervous than you are! :rotfl2:

Then, we talked about park passes. She said that so and so (I know who so and so is, but I don't want to include the name) works for Disney and is giving them free passes. Also, her BIL has a vendor (son to Iger or Einser) now I am unsure of who she said...said that he would hook them up too. Okay, now this woman has no knowledge of Disney, so I knew she wasn't making this up. Also, she isn't the type to make it up.

It's a small world...

After talking to her more, I learned that she is going the same time as my daughters' friend's family. (The friend at school (D) and the mom (O) to my kid's friend are best friends.) Still with me?

Well, O is a Disney lover like us and goes for ten days every other year. She has her plan all mapped out. I don't know if she is mapping out D's plan...They are doing the Luau and HoopDee together.

Needless to say, I am doing a reverse plan of attack for her. I am going to tell her which parks not to go to (she can avoid all EMH parks!)

I think I will sign off for now. I know I have totally confused my readers, and and loss any credibility as a writing teacher. :scared:

I just wanted to share yet another way I get to talk about Disney in my life!

I am getting tired and nearing when I should go to bed... but I mostly followed you. By the end though... I was totally :rotfl: You didn't "lose credibility as a writing teacher", however... that comment cracked me up.

I am certainly past bedtime...I really shouldn't write when I am tired!

I forgot and wanted to add for all of those traveling in the summer.

Cape May Cafe is refurbing (I love making a noun a verb...).

It will be closed from July 8 to Aug 3.

It wasn't on the list in my head of possible places to eat, but when you are denied something, it certainly has more appeal! :lmao:

We have done the Cape May breakfast - cute characters - they are all wearing beach wear. The breakfast is good, but does not have the made to order omelettes like at some of the other restaurants. We have not done dinner - my kids are not into seafood. We thought about trying it last summer with free dining, wish I had, but we didn't.

I know what you mean about the "forbidden fruit" theory!

That is the most difficult thing I encounter as a travel agent now - when people are making choices that are not optimal (like staying offsite, not booking ADRs)...........it takes a lot of restraint! I offer the pros and cons, but it is ultimately their decision.
