PTR: Francation 2021!

Well, we had a FANTASTIC weekend trip and it was just not enough!

I wish I had had more time at All Star Movies- it was such a cute resort. I ordered my dinner while on the bus and well, it took forever, but I was rewarded with them accidentally pulling two of my order. The CM just winked at me when I said I was only suppose to have one sandwich and fry, and said "It's all right here!" I guess since that's what was there, it was better just to take it?

Transferring our luggage was fairly painless, except my oldest totally forgot to give her bookbag, so we realized as we got to Magic Kingdom she was carrying her school laptop & notebooks! It was one of those moments when you just have to laugh, because she is just so used to carrying it all day at school!

Traveling with our nephew, his wife, and baby was amazing! We just had so much fun. I am glad we got the Villa though- it was amazing to have the extra space in the room since we did tend to spend so much time there! Saratoga Springs was an amazing resort. I'd love to stay there again! We were in the Paddock's section and I loved it! We had a smaller pool, that still had a slide and kiddie area, plus our bus stop was pretty quick. I felt terrible a few times we had to just drive right by the last bus stop because the bus was completely full. :( I do feel like they were doing their best- but no standing on the bus really reduces the amount of people you can get in there!

The crowds were totally manageable- other than Test Track and Flight of Passage, we didn't wait more than about 45 minutes in any line. We found most of the time, the posted waits were more than we actually waited and the social distancing really makes it hard to judge how long you have to wait. Slinky Dog went down after we were in line for about 30 minutes, and we ditched that, because we wanted to go back to swim at the pool anyway!

Rise of the Resistance was AMAZING. I am still shocked we got Boarding Group 5!!!! Can you imagine? And it was my nephew who scored that. With ZERO practice- he just did what we told him and he said "Group 5!" my husband and I were shocked. It was so amazing. And good thing we got in so early... because the ride went down later in the day. :(

I will try and come back and add a few photos later! Here is a link to my Instagram if you want to see what I posted there!

TOMORROW, right?! I hope you have a safe and fun trip!

And yes - you do have to collect your luggage at MCO now, before boarding the Magical Express. Speaking of luggage - good thing you checked the kids' suitcases! :rotfl: Maybe that was a ploy to need to buy Disney clothes in the gift shop.

One thing I always do before a trip is stop by the bank and get several $1 and $5 bills to use for tips and other small incidental purchases while traveling.
Yeah, my youngest would have LOVED a new wardrobe! Haha! Jokes on her- we had a washing machine , so I would have just washed those shorts everyday! Hahaha

I am a hairdresser- so lucky for me, I keep cash on hand all the time! I know just how thankful people are for their tips!

Just found your pre-trip report and I see you leave tomorrow!!!! Have a great trip!
Thanks for taking a peek! I hope your trip was great!

Yay! I'm glad your trip went so well!

I have been booked at All Star Movies at least twice, but have not yet stayed there. Once was before Movies was done with their renovation, and I switched to Pop to so I could have the renovated rooms that now include a coffee pot. The other time was a Covid-related trip cancellation. I have stayed at All Star Music once and All Star Sports I think three times. I actually prefer the All Stars to Pop, but now I have DVC.

Did you have to rent a locker for her school bag? LOL on the shorts and washing machine.

Wow on group 5! I still haven't gotten to ride ROTR, most of which is due to repeated Covid-related trip cancellations and once due to the ride being down. Avoiding spoilers is getting increasingly challenging.

Your wait times sound like they weren't bad at all, which is great! I have a love/hate relationship with FastPass+, and I liked how the standby line moved so well without the FastPass program. I preferred the older system to the FP+ reservations, so I really enjoyed being able to be a little more spontaneous with the rides.

Awesome!!! I am always so sad to hear folks who didn't get to ride on there trips. I hope to hear more about your trip.

I didn't get to ride because the ride was down the entire day due to a storm the night before. :headache:
I really should write a trip report for the trip I took last August. It's even already mostly written in a Google Doc, so I really should just get it going. I know I'll want to read it again in the future; this of course presumes that these Covid protocols are temporary.
