WOW, and WOW.

Shops opened tonight at 6:30, and people stood in line for three or four hours! They were limited to two each person, each style, which was still too many since there have been reports of guests bragging that they are turning around and putting them up on ebay. One CM told me that several guests threatened his job. Over. A. Purse.

I'm probably going to offend some on these boards that were in that line, but I just don't get it :confused3. Yes, they are cute. But they'll be available all year! I will get one...but not like that...spending hours of this very expensive cruise standing in line. Maybe I am the one that is psycho for not participating in the madness? Of course, I'm on the internet on this very expensive cruise, but I've had plenty of cocktails and fun tonight and I'm in my cozy bed while I'm at it.

One woman in front of our table mate (who she didn't know) actually asked her to buy her "purse list" for her because she had 6 PM dining (so did our table mate, who got disgusted and left the line). It is like serious purse madness. I have pictures of the Dooneys but darned if I can get photobucket to work on this extremely bad connection...I'll be right back, I'm still trying.

Yay me:

There's already a thread started that has pics in a link. NO need to waste your precious internet time trying to get pics posted of the bags.

I agree about the psycho-ness. Crazy too spend cruise time waiting in line.

Cute patterns. But it is just expensive plasticy covered canvas. I'd rather have a nice cotton canvas tote with cute design.

Thank you for trying to spare me that...I didn't read, trying to save my minutes, lol!

The purses are different...they have a shiny textured material that is actually kind of cool. But still not worth the line:)

Bye for now...I have a bamboo massage scheduled in the morning:)

Well I didn't see the other thread and saw the pics here first- and oooh I want the little zipper one.
But no, I won't go standing in cra-cra long lines for it. I don't want it THAT bad. LOL

After what happenend to the handles of my Dooney I bought on the Med, I would not give them any more of my money. Oh but, it is about time they set some sort of a limit on how many you can buy. I still think it should be less than 2 of EVERY style pp though. But, that's just my 2 cents.

:rotfl: Oh dear! It sounds a bit mad. I would like to buy one of these in September but there's no way I'll wait in line for four hours. Hopefully the excitement will have calmed down by then.

I have a slightly mad purse obsession, but that I just don't get. Give me a bright Michael Kors any day over that.

Yeah, I don't get the "must have it now" mentality of those who stand in line for hours to get the first of anything (video game, hot toy, cell phone). Let's face it, they are going to make more!

So good to see I am not the only one who thinks this. :)

I've never stood in line to buy anything. Of course, I never go shopping on Black Friday, either. It's a craziness that I don't get.

:lmao: Good luck on that one. There isn't much demand on ebay for Dooney Cruise purses. And if the buyer is honest on her customs form, she will have to pay duty tax.

"Each Guest returning from the Bahamas to the U.S. can bring back up to a total of U.S. $800 worth of duty-free merchandise (retail price)." Technically anything you buy on the ship also counts towards your Bahamas purchase total. Remember the shops aren't open when the ship is at port, just on sea. Customs considers it the one and the same.

They are cute..how much are they? I will not be one in line either but DD may want one so we'll try to catch an off time. Thanks for the heads up on the handles. I must say though..my Kate Spade ;) from Nassau lasted a good 2 years b4 the handles/seams or anything started weathering...so I'll probably stick to those nice market ladies. haha!

They are cute, like little girl purse cute. Grown women are fighting over these things? And paying a couple hundred at that??? Wow...insanity.

I made enough taking advantage of grown women during the Beanie Baby craze of the mid 90's to buy annual passes to Disney World for the whole family for 3 consecutive years...and had some $$$ left over. Don't underestimate them (or the depth of their wallets) when there is something they want really bad! :)

I'd be one less person in that line.
For one thing, I won't stand in line for anything.....except for getting onboard.
And I really don't like D & B. Never have. They're too heavy, and in my opinion, cheap.
I personally would feel a little silly carrying a Disney purse everywhere I went.
So good luck to everyone who wants one, I won't be standing in your way.

Okay, So I like my name brand stuff just as much as the next girl, BUT personally, this purse is cute but not that cute! The date on there ruins it for me. in 2012, "that purse is sooo last year!":rotfl2:I want purses I can change out for years, not be fashionally handicaped by a date.
Now, I do go shopping Black Fridays, but if the line is long I REFUSE! ToysRus opened at 10pm Thanksgiving night. The line was 6 hours long before you could even get in the store!!!! We walked to see how long the line was, turned around and left. Went back to a small store at 4 am and we were the only ones there! Got what we wanted and left in 6 minutes! Not worth waiting in line to be the first of the first. After all like Previous Poster, "They will make more!" I just wont be buying one. Ill find my name brand purse in Cabo!!!! :rolleyes1

Did they have the "regular" Disney cruise Dooneys or just this pattern? I personally like the other pattern better then this!

Different people have different priorities. Many here wouldn't have paid the $$ to be on the "first" cruise...but others did. I rarely pay full price for anything (thankfully our first cruise is KSF and we can book onboard for future trips!). Other people never shop a sale or clip coupons. Enjoy your cruise and think of all the things you enjoyed while others stood in that line! At least other parts of the ship were less crowded!
