Psyche me up for Boardwalk...

I just booked Boardwalk at 7 months for spring break and I'm so excited. A "pool or garden view" (new name for preferred) studio for 6 nights. I'm waitlisting for a Boardwalk View, but not holding my breath. DH and I did a walking tour of the Epcot area resorts last year and both decided that we would like to try Boardwalk. Anyhow, I've never stayed in an Epcot area resort and am really looking forward to it ... anyone care to share some enthusiastic reviews?

Our home is VWL and I really like the isolated and rustic feel, so this will definately be different. I just felt the need to try a new resort.

You will love BWV! We spent 10 nights there 7/07, and it was great! DH started having doubts before the trip...we've always stayed in the condo-style DVCs. But he loved it too - the easy access to Epcot was wonderful. We wish that BWV had a CS, but we often just walked to Epcot and ate a quick B/L there.

We really enjoyed the Community Hall setup there - it's right by the quiet pool, so DS could play video games while DDs swam and I relaxed by the pool!

One more thing...we had a front view, looking right out at the bus stop and lake. We were right above the doors to the bus stop/ parking lot (convenient for our car) and the back door to the quiet pool. It was great!

Oh you'll love it!! The Bakery, Jellyrolls, the fun clown/rollercoaster pool.....i just love the theme in general. My last trip to BW (June) I really started taking note of the dusk activities and night life. There is a large grass lawn in the middle of the resort right next to the Boardwalk and I would park myself right there. Its neat to watch the lights turning on, the kids playing on the lawn, the music getting a bit louder, the crowds showing up.......suddenly you smell funnel cake and see a man playing a piano on a bike. There are amusement park type games that have certain sounds, couples holding hands, the boats coming and going Should I keep carrying on?

Bottom line is this, even though BWV isnt a home resort of mine, something about that place just makes me feel "home". You'll love it! How can you not?

Add me to the BWV lover's group! It is also NOT my home resort (no points available when we were buying) but it easily could've been! We booked at the 7 month window last year for a December stay, w'listed for a BW view and it came through in early September. Don't give up hope!

We liked it so much, we're going back this December although we're trying a deluxe room on the concierge level at BWI instead.

I agree that there is something about the sound of the boats, the games on the midway, and the smell of the bakery when the door opens briefly that just makes it......wonderful.

Aaahhh....now if I could just win the lottery and buy in for about 200 points there!!!!!

You will LOVE BWV. Had a boardwalk view, room 3017. Looked out over the carnival style game, and the view was awsome. When the Boardwalk is all lit up, it is soo cool. And being able to walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios is a major plus. Bus service was awsome when we were there at the end of July. There are multiple stops to MK and AK, but not a huge deal.

Enjoy, and I will try to control my jealousy.

I love the big rocking chairs outside the lobby.Beautiful resort at night.So close to Epcot which is my favorite park to close down at night.

I love BWV....going back next month....with a split to WLV....i think this will be my favorite split

Lets see....IMO BWV felt the most "upscale" of all the resorts I'd stayed at so far. My studio felt spacious.....and the kitchenette was bigger than I expected. My room location was perfect....overlooking the villa pool and TOT.
Short walk to everything....I lucked out.

BWV is one of my fav pools. I could sit at my table in the shade under the umbrella and watch DD6 go up and down the slide 100x while never leaving my sight. The slide is fun and fast.....Fun, festive atmosphere....But felt relaxed at the same time.....unlike SAB.

Coming home at night....it was so nice to see the entertainment on the BW. I haven't been to the evening lounges yet....so maybe this time I'll get there.

You must eat at flying fish since you are soooo close....best TS IMO.

Last time I went to DVC I stayed at OKW our usual spot, go to the airport to get back to Buffalo and find out the AP is closed due to a huge amount of show fall. We will be detained in Florida another 3 days!!!!! Called DVC member services and borrow on next years points and I get to go to Boardwalk. What a great place that was!!! Awesome pools with great slides, an outdoor libations stand. Great places to eat within walking distance and an atmosphere that made me feel like I had never had so much fun. You will LOVE it!!!!

This is our home resort and think it is the best. We love all of the activity around the resort as well as the proximity to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Lots of restaurants to choose from at BWV, Y&B, Swan/Dolphin. We also enjoy ESPN for nachos and the seasonal sport (baseball, football) Great place to sit and people watch. In fact, we sometimes never leave the resort at all. It can be quiet and relaxing or if you need more excitement, that's available too. For us, it's the perfect place.

BWV main attraction of course is the location. It is terrific to have two of the four parks so easily accessible. We've stayed at BWV twice and Yacht Club thrice(before buying DVC). While there is no CS there are many nearby options. In retrospect I probably should have bought there, but when i bought i didn't really know that was a possibility. SSR was available with incentives and DW was agreeable to buying so we took the plunge.
