Rumour alert

I've just read this on DCP - written by Dias yesterday at 21.40

http://www.disneycentralplaza.com/t23409p880-futurs-developpements-2012-2015-rumeurs-diverses

- Pizza Planet deviendra LA Cantina
Rien de prévu au WDS en dehors de Ratatouille.

Here are the plans provided for EDLI (Impossible to know against what has been validated or not)
- POTC makeover with the addition of Jack Sparrow
- Redesign of Autopia with electric vl
I keep the best for last:
- Arrival of the Star Tours 2 with a post-show and a shop - Star Traders would become a photo point
- Hista / Captain EO will become the Jedi Academy
- Pizza Planet will become THE Cantina
Nothing planned at WDS except Ratatouille

Make of it what you will but I think it sounds good :thumbsup2

Edit - Adding the other info about the 2nd attraction in WDS

no 2nd attraction for the Studios in 2014

End of the suspense!

I got confirmation from Disneyland Paris that it is an error of Figaro reporter who transcribed the interview badly.

So no second attraction in 2014 for Walt Disney Studios.

:woohoo: Any idea of the time scale for this? I guess it's too much to hope that it'll all be in place by next January :rotfl2:

I am conflicted about this, the Star Wars geek in me is thinking 'OMG awesome!' my inner Steampunk lover is wondering how this is going to impact the overall theming of Discoveryland - I'd love to see them go all out and totally Steampunk the area.

I'd prefer they didn't update POTC but the rest is great news! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the infos.....very interesting ! :thumbsup2

But what will be a "Jedi Academy" ?

:confused3

The abolition of Captain Eo is in itself great news. That was 45mins of my life I can't have back. It was appalling!

Star Wars! Whey-hey !!!

Steve

Loving your post Steve :lmao:

Never saw it but apparently there is a petition going to try and stop 'them' closing it..... ;) It appears some people are quite upset about it :confused3.

I, for one, would be happy to see more Star Wars stuff here - it has a reasonable fit and is just great theming. Much prefer that to Marvel stuff (which was banded about as a possibility in this location but doesn't fit at all).

Don't get too excited about CE going as there is talk that it's only temporary while they refit the theatre :scared

As long as they don't bring back HISTA instead or as well or whatever :scared1:

Thanks Carrie but I don't think I'll be signing :rotfl2::rotfl: I'm surprised they are talking about a temp removal - read elsewhere it was permanent but I guess until we read it officially who knows :confused3. Not something I'll be queuing up to see (actually, would there be a queue ;)?).

I'm all for a refit of the Star Tours stuff and more Star Wars theming :thumbsup2

I also have two girls but my youngest in particular seems to leaning towards star wars and the like (she's never seen it, but a lot of the boys in nursery have and play it all the time!). I also used to like Star Wars as a child and collected the figures etc :rolleyes1, but also liked Barbie etc too.

My older is more 'girly' - depends on the child really. And if I'm honest, I do think there is a lot of stuff for girls in Fantasyland/the Castle etc which perhaps doesn't appeal so much to slightly older boys 6/7+. Plus, finding something that appeals to girls in Discoveryland is always going to be difficult :confused3. My two aren't that bothered by the place, apart from Buzz really. But I think I'll have problems keeping DD2 off Star Tours this time :rotfl2:.

I can't wait for the star tours revamp .. I was lucky enough to ride it 4 times on a recent trip to orlando - it's fantastic!!! and if they make captain eo into the jedi acadamy that would be even better .. I have a small person who would love to be a jedi :)

Any investment and revamps are welcome - it good to see that they are making a serious investment in DLP

Dont know about carrie cat :confused3 but my DD was named after carrie fisher (princess leia):thumbsup2:lmao:so any star wars theming would be ok with me captain Eo was not my cup of tea .in WDW they have really big star wars weekends and a jedi acadamy so it a thumds up from me:thumbsup2

Sounds good. Shame there was never any second attraction planned for the studios though.

There is a new ride for the studios: ratatouille dark ride (nemo style) work is under way. The studio tours ride has been moved around accordingly if you go on the parachute drop in toy story area you can see work commencing.....

Unsure about star wars heard no talk about this as currently all budget is planned into 20th celebrations, no plans for EO to go yet... Hey they have t shirts to sell still!

A Pierre vacances resort is being built work starting next year over by davey Crockett, Ground has already been cleared

the jack sparrow addition to potc well that's a rumour that has been kicking around since the movies and as yet Paris have no plans to join in with this (god knows why...)

Oh and it's been a rumor for years but looks like as the 20th celebrations finish so will the wws and possibly hello Zorro...
