I see :3dglasses all of the July people who will be tripping :hippie: to DL, but where-oh-where are the August tripsters …post your dates…what are your must do rides…how are you going to beat the heat… :cool2:

Come on August people stand-up and be counted… :grouphug:

We are going August 10/15…looking forward to riding Nemo, TSMM and Soaring…and my all time favorite Heimlich’s Chew Chew Train…yes! I love it!

We will be stay onsite…planning to go back during the heat of the day and swim…or nap…then back to the parks for more fun in the evening…not to miss: parades, Fantasmic , fireworks and rides...rides and more rides…
Now toss in some Character meet and greets, some great food and the trip is planned…

Oh August how I love thee…let me count(down) the days…
jc

August 20th-22nd here. :goodvibes

Like you we will go to parks early, take a break for swimming and naps.

Must sees are TSMM and Electrical Parade -- DH has never seen it.

I know that it will be hot and crowded but we will be back in December for Christmas decorations so whatever we don't see or do can be done then.

Oh, yeah, I am so counting down the days too! :hippie:

Come on August people stand-up and be counted… :cool1:

We are going Jul 28 - Aug 8…looking forward to riding TSMM, Space MTN {FAV} and seeing alot of the shows...and we missed F! & fireworks last time, so looking forward to those as well! And going to take DS on TOT!!!

Plan on beating the hit with a midday swima nd possible nap and back into the night until closing {at least that's our plan!!!}...and staying very well HYDRATED!

We have some PS's planned and LOVE Goofy's Kitchen, so totally looking forward to that again! Plus this will be out 1st lunch at the BB!!!:cool1:

11th - 16th August here for our 1st visit to Disneyland!! Whooo, can't wait. I'm just not looking forward to the 11 1/2 hour flight to get there!!

So must do's? Indy, Matterhorn, Nemo, BTMRR, Soarin and California Screamin. Oh and the ToT and TSMM. I'm also really looking forward to Fantasmic, the fireworks, Aladdin and doing the segway tour. Oh and I'm looking forward to Napa Rose chefs table and eating at Blue Bayou (I'm interested how it compares to Blue Lagoon at DLP)

Beating the heat? Mid day breaks, sun hats and lots of sun cream!!

Add me to the August list! Coming back for another great trip 8/11-8/14. I'm very excited about TSMM, but 2 of my friends will have already ridden it (one will have ridden the DHS version) and I said that I would still beat them!

Just like last year we will be going from park opening to almost closing. But this year since we're staying onsite, we get 2 MM's! :cool1: I'm going to be mega ultra tired, but it's Disneyland, so it won't matter :earsboy: We also are all craving dole whips and monte cristos, so those are at the top of our food list.

Dbf:cool2: , me ( supermom) :laundy: , and DD 2 princess: will be going on our first DL visit Aug. 15-17, then head to san Diego and Sea World for 2 nights.
Can't wait to try Soarin, tot, and want to see Fantasmic! badly. I live in the hot desert so I am sorta used to the heat, but will be taking advantage of onsite hotel for little one's naptime.

I am the biggest kid (despite my 34 years of age:angel: ) but I am looking forward to this vacation as well as seeing the smile on my daughter's face when she sees mickey in person!!! cool!
:yay:

This will be our first family trip to Disneyland. We are also going to sea world and san diego zoo August 14-16. I have also invested in ridemax. My plan is to ride every ride. The persons taveling are me(24) DH(32) DD7, DD9, DS2. it is going to be tough be we plan on doing it all. Any tips or hints for a first-timer are greatly welcome

We will be there early August for a few days. For those curious, check out the link in my signature for my pre-trip report.

Right now, I am just having fun with Ridemax trying to plan the most perfect plan! :rotfl:

This is my first time back to DL in ten years, and the first trip for DH. So excited!!

Ooo!! Me, pick me! :yay:

I was waiting for an August trip thread! We (me, I'm 16, my 11 year old brother, and my mom and dad) are going to DL and staying at the DLH (in a Mickey themed room, we have just discovered) from 22-24, then we're staying at a house (with a pool :cool2: ) in Laguna Niguel from 24-28, and then going back to DL from 28-29 and staying at the Double Tree Inn. So yeah, a bit confusing, but still fun and exciting. While we're at Laguna we'll probably take a trip to Sea World. But of course, my family is the most excited about Disneyland. We've been to DL and WDW a bunch of times, but we're still so psyched and counting the days for this trip. Hmmm, rides I'm most excited about...well I've never been on the Nemo subs, so I really want to do that. And Soarin, TOT, Matterhorn, Indy, and California Screamin' are some of my faves. And we'll probably just go back to the hotel pool to beat the heat. I'm kind of in denial though. My mom is telling me how deathly hot it will be, and I'm like, "we'll be fine!" We shall see...:)

We'll be there Aug 23-26, staying on-site for this trip - YAY!!! We definitely are not going to miss going to Blue Bayou this time, will definitely do F! as it may be down during our October trip, and all the usual rides (yipee for early entries!!). Have to do POTC and Indy, ToT (yikes!!), and Toy Story Mania.

Can't wait for August! :woohoo:

We'll be there August 7-12! We are so excited about this trip because it's a complete surprise for my DS who will turn 14 on the 10th. This trip is full of suprises. DS is a HUGE NY Yankees fan and we have tickets to see them play the Angels on his birthday. He's never gotten to see them play in person. We are also taking my nephew who is my DS age and best friend. DS doesn't know about any of this. I'm ready to burst!

We'll also beat the heat by mid afternoon breaks. We'll probably get a late lunch early dinner outside the park. It may help the budget a little. I'm a little nervous about feeding two teenage boys!

But we are pretty diehard when it comes to the parks. We'll probably just make sure we have lots of water and lots of sunscreen and go till we drop!

Can't wait to do TSMM and ToT is my all time favorite!:scared1:

Add me to the list!

I'll be visiting my happy place Aug. 9th-15th
I am so excited to be going back and I can't wait to go on Splash Mountain :goodvibes over and over as well as every other ride in the park ;)

And I promise to everybody here at the Dis that I will try the Corn Dog Castle and Bengal BBQ. Otherwise I fear a Dis style shunning ;)

We'll be there August 7-12! We are so excited about this trip because it's a complete surprise for my DS who will turn 14 on the 10th.
How fun!
I'm going to DL for my DSis's B-day on the 11th. She is going to be turning 11. And the best part...she doesn't know we're going :goodvibes

Oh what fun!

The Dobie Family will be enjoying Disneyland August 10-15, for our last family vacation before Only Disneybrat-18 goes away to college (sob)

We are staying off site at the Sheraton (for free) and are counting on Indy, BTMRR, Soarin', Buzz, Pirates, and California Screamin!

I'll be making ressies for Carnation Cafe, Princess Dinner at Ariel's, Storytellers, and Cafe Orleans. I am also going to try to get tickets for an Angels-Mariners game (Go M's!!!) and for Fantasmic Reserved Seating.

We'll be beating the heat by NAPPING. And by drinking much beer.

we found out we were getting $$ from Uncle Sam and decided to spend it at Disney. A wise choice in my opinion. We also decided to keep the trip a secret from our kids DS6 and DD8. It will be their 3rd trip to DL. We have many must see attractions. DW is DYING to ride Nemo. DS can't wait to ride Indy (he was too short last year). I love all of the big rides and plan on riding them all. DD's favorite is Big Thunder. We will be staying at HOJO for the first time on the 19th-23rd. I've heard many good things from the people here and decided to give it a shot.

As a bonus, my sister-in-law will be bringing her 3 year old daughter to DL for the first time. I can't wait to see her face when she gets her first look at the castle.:goodvibes Even better, when the 3 year old has had enough (or has a tantrum), it'll be my sister-in-law's issue, NOT MINE (for once).:cool1:

Week of August 10.

We are staying on site for the first time EVER!!! We can't wait. We're in a party of 7 and will be in a two-bedroom suite at DLH.

I'm a ride junkie and am looking forward to soarin, tower of terror, screamin, splash, space, and indiana (my son is 45" and you need to be 46" - what are the odds he can get on?).

My wife is a show junkie so we'll be catching Fantasmic, Parade of Dreams, Remember Dreams Come True, Electrical Parade, Pixar, HSM, and anything else she can find. We probably won't do Alladin - we've already seen it a couple times.

As for food, we're going for waterfront seats at Blue Bayou - first time there. We're also doing our first character meal with Lilo and Stitch.

We can't wait!!!

Yay! Me too! Our trip is August 24 - 31. The trip will include Me (47), DH (45), DD (will turn 16 on the trip!), DS (12) will be making another trip to the Happiest Place on Earth! We haven't been in 2 years and we are all so very excited. DD wants to do the Segway tour on her b-day.

We are most looking forward to well....EVERYTHING! We do it all at least once! And we do most things three or four times! We are getting 8 day hoppers - we go wild and totally enjoy every minute of every day.

We have reservations for Goofy's Kitchen and Blue Bayou.

Disneyland vacations are the very best because as a family we do everything together all the time...we all love every ride and it is a great way for us to really connect as a family.

We will beat the heat by riding the water rides, bringing water bottles and taking advantage of a/c! The heat doesn't slow us down.

:wave2: We will be there August 6-15 and staying in a premium room at CCI. Most days we will be in the parks but a couple of side trips to Wild Animal Park and some beach action will be in order as well. As far as beating the heat, just getting out of Dallas in August will be good enough.

Would love to meet a DISer or 2 whilst we're there!
