PSA: Reminder to use up pandemic flight credits!

Friendly reminder to review and Air Miles/airline pandemic flight credits to see when they expire. I know some don't expire but some do. For those that do, we're coming up on 2 years which is a common expiry deadline.

My husband had $150 in a Westjet Travel Bank that we discovered would expire in June. We booked tickets to Calgary at $57 each way to use them up. (He's going to surprise his mom for Mother's Day, and then his dad is coming back to Ottawa to look after kids while we have a getaway to Universal. Omg.)

Thanks for the reminder.

My air miles went back into my account right away and got the taxes returned the same week. I just checked my AC vouchers and they say they never expire. Phew!

If you book flights on Westjet before April 30th, you can then change or cancel them for free and get new travel bank credit (that I presume will have a new expiry date). So that could be away to extend your travel bank credits.
