But seriously, it's entertainment. The most fun I've had over the past few months was getting together with the few males in my family, and playing Halo.

As for why you would get the new system. Well, if you never got anything upgraded, we would all still be using smoke signals. :confused3 But getting a new system is kind of like getting a new car, if you know what I mean. It's better than what you had last. I'm sure others here could emphasize on that.

And the systems are not similar. I mean, from what I've seen, the PS3's graphics blow the 360's out of the water. Thats just one example.

They play games, girls shop.. :rolleyes1

Guys shop to.

For more games.

Well Ken Kutaragi has stated that it will cost no less than 450, because get this, "It is a multimedia device, and oh yeah, it plays games too." I swear that is real. I believe it is either the Cell processors or the Blue Ray alone that cost about 500 to make. I doubt they would sell it for 800, they would rather lose money in the beginning and make up in software, than not make any at all.

Though I do see the PS3 taking the path of the N64. Nintendo was big, as well known as and big as the Playstation brand is now. Sadly though, they stuck to the expensive cartridges, and lost much developer support. The PS was cheaper to design for and gained the developers that Ninty lost. This is starting to shape up to to be the same thing with the upcoming generation. Though while the PS has sold more than the NES and SNES, it may take two generations to fall with all of the fans they have gained. I do not see the PS3 having as much of the market share they had this time around.

PS3 will not be playable at E3 and apparently it's having a lot of problems with online service. I really don't think the PS3 is going to make it.

Bugs can be sorted out you know. :confused3

Yeah, I know they can. But as of right now Sony is ditching Online plans for the PS3, saying that they can't get it worked out by the launch date. Plus the no public playable display for E3 is pretty much the same thing they did with the PSP. And that made a lot of people angry.

Well considering Sony just recently stated they were going for a XBox Live-esque type of service, I somewhat doubt that. Do you happen to have a link to it. I have not heard this news before.

The first Sony Blu-Ray players that will be released later this year will carry a MSRP of $999.99, so that probably gives everyone a "rough" idea of where the price point of the PS3 will be set. Blu-Ray is a brand new technology and will carry a premium price tag. Personally, I can't wait for Blu-Ray dvd players to hit the market. High Definition is the only way to watch anything these days :thumbsup2

Yes, I would like to see some sort of news story as well.

I also don't get how people are freaking out saying how because it won't be playable by E3, and how it's having some problems, it's suddenly going to fail. :confused3

That is a blue ray player, the blue ray drives are cheaper, and there are differences. Either way, it will be expensive
