Ps3!!!!!!!!!

i highly disagree, Halo is the most widely played shooter for console gaming, comming pretty close to counter-strike for pc. Not only that but Halo is also the standard game for professional gaming right now as far as consoles go... i wouldnt say it is a stupid decision to release along with the PS3...will it happen no bungie has said that falt out..As far saying Halo 3 will never come out thats completly miss informed. Bungie has made multiple hints on halo 3 and as it being xbox's biggest selling point there will certainly be one. Plus the fanbase for halo is so massive that bungie would be depriving themselves tons of money if they didnt....Halo 2 was not hinted at or anything until well into its development as will be the same way the do it for Halo3. The 360 is still in such high demand that microsofts "mistake" of not having enough release consoles has made more people want them then they would have had in the first place. Not being able to buy something makes a person want that item more making microsofts idea for a 2nd launch date genius in my opinion.

This doesn't mean a thing. Look how many people were playing Pac-Man. Just because a game is successful doens't mean there will be another.

There is a gaming league? I dunno. I only watch Arena as far as competitive gaming like that goes, and they've never played halo. At least the episodes I've seen. It's usually a Socom game. :confused3

I would say GameInformer is a pretty respectable source. :confused3

I would say it was still a mistake. They could have made so much money off that initial release, and yet some stores were only getting like 12 consoles, and several of those went to employees.

microsofts idea for a 2nd launch date
There is only one launch date. I mean, NASA can't launch the same shuttle for the same mission twice on the same day you know? :confused3

First of all, there is no second date, and Second, that is why everyone is pretty hyped for the Revo. Whether you love it or hate it, everyone is wondering what that last secret will be, and to try the gaming for themselves. One month to go, and Revolution will be playable at E3 and not the next gen, but the new gen of gaming will begin.

HAHA hyped for the revo what a joke...the Revolution is going to flop just like all there new systems have, N64 was totally outclassed by ps1, GC was just terrible in every way shape and form and the revolution is next to follow in its footsteps. Older teens and adults dont want the kid games that nintendo produces...they are geared towards kids and early teens which now a days arent the ones buying next gen consoles. i agree that the PS3 will be amazing except for that dumb boomarang controler...as far as a second launch date it is possible seeing as it already happened and just as many people waited for those as they did the first time. perhaps you would prefer a different choice of words rather then 2nd launch but thats just how i described it and how all the gaming magazines described it.....and yes there is a pro gaming league, theres quite a few actually MLG (MajorLeagueGaming), WCG (WorldCyberGames), CAL and many more..and for all of those halo is there main game...Arena is geared more towards PC games and the kids on that show are far from pro lol....As for Halo3, think what you want but there will be a halo3 weather you would like to believe it or not, i would put my life on that. Gameinformer is on crack if they think other wise cuz they are certainly out on a limb on that one. As far as i see it all the other magazines and web sites already have sections dedicated to halo3.

i can tell that you guys are pretty anti-xbox so our argument would never end so ive put my input in, and agree to disagree i guess. i like my xbox and thats good enough for me :)

Ok, I could just roast you out of your shoes, but seeing as this is a Disney board, I'll try to keep my confrontation to a minimal.

The hype for the Revo is quite real. This thing will not be a flop. Actually it might give Sony and Microsoft a run for it's money. First of all it will probably be the cheapest system. Second of all, the gaming library will sell a lot of consoles by it'self. I'm one of the people who are going to buy a Revo just to play stuff like Mike Tyson's Punchout and Super Mario Brothers 3. As for the N64, I loved it. Sure the PS1 was better, but the 64 was awsome IMO. The GC wasn't all terrible. It's extreemly fun to play actually. Not my personal favorite, but still fun. The Revo will not follow in the Cube's footsteps though. Why?

1) Online Gaming
2) MASSIVE game library
3) Cheap prices+1&2=a lot of cosoles sold
4) Might capture TWO generations

Older teens and adults dont want the kid games that nintendo produces...they are geared towards kids and early teens which now a days arent the ones buying next gen consoles.
The Revo will sell a lot of colsoles to the older generation. Once again I think the game library is going to sell a lot of Revos. There will be many, many adults buying Revos so they can play the games they played on the NES and the SNES. Sure they may not capture the middle generation, but Nintendo will certainly have the Younger and Older generations.

i agree that the PS3 will be amazing except for that dumb boomarang controler
Everyone I knew and talked to thought the 360's controller was stupid looking, and was going to be un-comfortable. I sit here today saying that the 360 controller is the most comfortable controller I've ever used. So who knows with the boomerang controller. It may be awsome. :confused3

Yes. Yes I would like another word for it.

Arena is geared more towards PC games and the kids on that show are far from pro lol
And I'm sure you could own some of the teams on there.

As for Halo3, think what you want but there will be a halo3 weather you would like to believe it or not, i would put my life on that
There might not be. I mean, look at the dissapointment that was Halo2. You factor that in with both Microsoft and Bungie both saying there isn't a Halo3 in the works. It's a very real possibility.

Gameinformer is on crack if they think other wise cuz they are certainly out on a limb on that one
I don't think your understanding what I'm saying. It wasn't like they were just throwing it out there. It wasn't like they were just suddenly coming out and saying, "THERE WON'T BE A HALO 3!!!". In the article I read, they simply stated how both Bungie and Microsoft has denied that Halo 3 is in the works, and said how no Halo 3 is a very real possibility. Exactly what I'm doing now.

i can tell that you guys are pretty anti-xbox
I'm not anti-xbox. I have an xbox, and I love it. I just wasn't impressed with the 360 is all. :confused3

"We are about six months from launch, and debugging should be done, prototypes and dev kits should flow like water, and all the tame magazines should already have one. The situation is rather different though, they are nowhere"

About Halo 3, I honestly think it is dumb to make more than like 2 of the same games.. [I know their different but still] Like how theres about 10 Mario Parties and such

im not sure if your being sarcastic about me being able to own the kids on that show but yes im pretty sure me and my pc gaming team could, certainly in call of duty and UnrealTournament and most likely in socom as well. we watch that show to and those kids are really really bad. i play in a ton of tourneys for pc and xbox games so i have a pretty good idea of who we can beat. im also going to say that i too was not impressed with the xbox 360 as a whole but i dont think it is going to be far behind ps3 and i still think it will be better then a revo. but hey you never know i guess maybe the revo will be sweet, in this case i would be happy to be proven wrong cuz hey if a system is good that means better games all around! :thumbsup2

The hype is very real. Every respected gaming website has had a poll in the past, with Revo and PS3 gaining 30-40 percent of the votes. XBox360 is either far behind, or tied for second with Revo. I don't think you read my post earlier about the Ubisoft launch title called Red Steel. ADULT-oriented game. Now I know one game doesn't a system make, but if they can get more games like this, in combination with Nintendo's new IP and tried and true franchises, and the Virtual Console, they will be a very strong in the next gen.

It is the games like Nintendogs, Brain Age, and Animal Crossing that have been drawing in OLDER gamers, not younger. In Japan alone, these three games have all broken the million user, and AC broke 2 million. Nntendogs and AC have done well in America, and I suspect that BA will do well. Like Nintendo has said before, the DS is a plan for what is to come with the Revo.

I am not exactly anti XBox, I am secure enough to say there are good games on all three systems, I just tend to prefer the GC. Playstation I also own, but I don't have many games for it, just not my bag. But yes Sony has their system sellers, as does Microsoft. I have played an XBox before, just doesn't interest me as much. If I had the money, I would buy all three systems, trust me, then I could make a truly unbiased opinion.

Question?

Why are boys so obsessed with gaming? Like dead serious...what does it do for you? When I was little I had Sega and that was pretty awesome but eventually I outgrew it. I'd get so bored. I have one game for PS2, Kingdom Hearts, but I got stuck and I haven't played it in over a year.

We have: Sega, Nintendo 64, and PS2. The only one we bought was PS2...the rest were given to us. I also don't understand why you need all the newest gaming systems from different companies? To me, they all seem so similar.

We also have 2 gameboy colors (one for me, one for my little brother - prolly the gaming system I used the most til I got bored), along with a PSP for my brother, and I owned Sega Genesis when I was about 7 or 8 (Which I thought had great graphics for its time and I'm very sorry to see that it was taken off the market). I can see getting a new gaming system when they stop coming up with stuff and stop making games for that particular system, but to get Revolution, XBox 360, and PS3...It just makes no sense to me? :confused3

I'm totally open-minded about this...I just need someone to give me good answers and reasons to all my questions.

It's something to do when women are bothering us.

But seriously, it's entertainment. The most fun I've had over the past few months was getting together with the few males in my family, and playing Halo.

As for why you would get the new system. Well, if you never got anything upgraded, we would all still be using smoke signals. :confused3 But getting a new system is kind of like getting a new car, if you know what I mean. It's better than what you had last. I'm sure others here could emphasize on that.

And the systems are not similar. I mean, from what I've seen, the PS3's graphics blow the 360's out of the water. Thats just one example.

::yes::
ITA I think it's really dumb. But I think they maybe do that because maybe the graphics in the old game were lame, idk... or the game was easy to beat. :confused3

The graphics wern't lame in the Halo 2. They were the exact same as in Halo 1. :confused3

I want the revolution to be able to play all those old games I can't play anymore, and the new way to play the new games, simple as that.

Munky, have you heard this comment from sony that the PS3 will be able to play in 4D 0_o

Well seeing as how the fourth demension is Time, I don't know how that's possible.

...

I guess the past two generations have been able to play in 4D, because you had 3D graphics, and you spent time playing it, so I dunno. :confused3

I saw something funny in the some forums. So does that mean ocarina of time, since that is the truest of 4d games. And how can we forget Blinx the Timecat.

Beats me. It would be awsome though to be able to re-wind time when I'm playing Gran Turismo or something.

You know Munkym I was looking through some old threads I have posted to in the past, and found something from back in October. You used to sing a pretty different tune to the Revolution, what changed your mind since then? :teeth:
