I have been to disney 3 times. I am going for a fourth time Jan 16 to the 20th of 2004. I have decided to bring my 2 nephews (ages 5, 7) as their christmas present. They have been to disneyland but this will be there first trip to disneyworld. I want their first to be special.

I dont like planning things. I like the kids to choose what they would like to do that night. But I am getting nervous that if I dont have PS reservations that we wont be able to eat at disney. Should I make PS reservations for every night, guessing what restaurant we might want to eat at?? What happens if I no show for the PS?? Or for that time of the year, will i have a problem getting in??

I was looking at things like... the libery traven in MK, Crystal Palace in MK, Chef's Mickey in Comtemp.

What should I do?? Risk it or make reservations and just no show or cancel if we decide not to go?? Will disney get mad??

On a side note... We finally booked the wildnerness lodge. I really wanted the beach club. I have stayed there before and loved it. But the beach club was so so much more expensive. Is it worth the extra money??

THanks for your help

I made PS's for all our dinners this past week because there were 10 of us. Don't know what others will say about January with 3 or 4 people.

We did have to cancel a PS due to some illness but there was no problem with that.

I would suggest that given the ages of your nephews, it would be fun to do at least one character breakfast. And it would be smart to try to get a PS for that. We did 1900 Park Faire at GF yesterday and our kids loved it. Think you could take a boat to Chef Mickeys.

Have fun! Your nephews are lucky to have you as their aun!:D

For Chef Mickey's, I'd recommend a PS. That is very popular and it might be hard to get into without a PS. LTT and CP you might play by ear.

If you make a PS and don't show, WDW doesn't send the restaurant police after you. ;) They also do not get mad. The PS is not a reservation and no specific table is held for you. It's a way of getting the next available table that will seat your group/party.

If you & your family really want to eat somewhere and it's important ... I would make a PS. The drawback is you have to plan park touring around that PS and be aware of the time, where you are and how long it will take to get to the restaurant.

I've stayed at both WL and BC ... love both of them. I think the BC is worth the extra money, but also love WL. The WL rooms are slightly smaller and some people say they think the rooms are darker than other resorts. But the Lodge is great; so many wonderful things to see and do. Whichever you choose would be terrific.

Thanks for your help.. I have decided to make PS for every meal.

But now I have a new problem... Isnt there any character meals that arent buffet?? I dont like buffets, especially at dinner. But the kids like characters while they are eating.

Isnt there any restaurants that offer character dining with a non buffet or family service menu.

Thanks for your help

I think the one at the land in Epcot ( can't place the name maybe garden grill) is characters and all you can eat but at your table rather than a buffet line, Ice cream social there also with characters, same table deal. You can check out menus here under"dining" on the home page or at
www.wdwig.com edited cause I missed the "family service" part..then sorry, none I know of but there is a listing for character meals on the wdwig site so it should say if there are any
