PS cancellation policy?

We have PS reservations for BB this week and may need to cancel. How soon before the reservation do we need to cancel? I'd like to wait as long as possible since this trip planning has been absolutely crazy and everything keeps changing.
 
I have cancelled the day of without any problem. I actually went to City Hall to do it, and they contacted the restaurant for me.
 
My email from Disney Dining requests I cancel at least 48 hours in advance.

I've never heard of any penalty if you don't cancel at all, and canceling the same day for the Blue Bayou should work out fine on Disney's end (it's not like the table will go empty, as people always want to eat there).

But Disney doesn't even REQUEST that you give them more than 48 hours' notice.
 
Thanks for the responses. I will probably wait until the day of and see how things go up to that point.

The car's packed and everything's ready we're just finalizing the last minor detail of who's actually going :lmao: Due to some health concerns (obviously beyond anyone's control) this trip hasn't turned out as planned.
