Well I was starting to panic that we would not get a place. I have literally only just started planning, holiday has been booked for nearly a year. It was a throw away remark from someone about three weeks ago who suggested we get this great book all about Disney and Orlando. She wasn't sure what it was called but she had seen it in Ottakers and it had nemo or something on the front. She said if it wasn't there I could possibly get it in the
Disney Store. Couldn't find it in Ottakers, went to Disney Store and explained about the book and that it had either Nemo or Shrek!!! on the front. Disney Store guy gently explained that Shrek wasn't Disney (oops). Anyway eventually found out off this girl that it was Simon's book (no sign of Nemo on the front). Got it from Tesco, devoured it and it pointed me in the direction of this site.
Consequently I have now realised that we should have been planning this trip for the last 11 months, although in my defence, its hard to plan too much if you have never been before. I have read lots of good reviews about Chef Mickey, had heard about Character Dining but we weren't going to bother until we started reading these boards. One of the considerations for our choice was also the Characters, really wanted AK Breakfastasorus Characters because they also include Pluto but don't want to do a breakfast as we want to get straight on the rides.
Have also realised from this board that whilst we had intended to hire a stroller, we have now decided to hire a double stroller, as I think our 6 yr old DD will flag going around the park and possibly also our 9yr old DS, having said that not sure he would want to be seen being pushed around in a stroller. Mind you if he doesn't want to I would be happy to take his place. 4 yr old DS will have to walk thought cos there won't be any room if I get in.
There are a couple of restaurants though which for us are a must, as we remember them from our heady days of living in DC, pre kids, pre marriage as well come to that. They are Cheesecake Factory and Steak and Ale, also we discovered The Outback (Bloomin Onion Fame) when we last in Florida. So that is a must as well.
I am hoping that walking around the parks all day will burn off some of the calories that I am going to be consuming at these restaurants.
