pros and cons of flat pannel wide screens TV's.

Ok, we just got back from Circuit city and we did get the 32 inch samsung LCD HD tv. It is good. We ended up putting it upstairs in the master bedroom, with a new DVD player. Man does the Disney World planing DVD look good on it. Almost like you are there. I am torn now because I love it in the bedroom, but I want it in the living room too. We might need 2! ;)

The size actully is pretty good, not too small. Price was nice too, 1700. It looks fine with our normal cabel too. I don't like change and don't feel like changing right now, but might later.

The guy there said the date was 2009, that seems more likley.

Thanks everyone for the help. :cheer2:

Thanks we are!!!!!! Our only problem now is we want one in everyroom!!!!!!! I can't get my husband out of the bedroom (wait maybe this isn't bad? )

Seroiulsy we keep talking about going back and getting another one for the living room. It even looks good with our normal cabel. (and 2 of the 32 inch would be just alittle more then one of the 42 inch. Queen of justification princess: ) Maybe the price will go down next year.

Hi,

I just wanted to say that I think you will be pleased if you get the digital cable/HD box.

We just love the HD programming that is offered. There is a lot of stuff that is in the IMAX theatres that we see on the HD channels, some great programs on the ocean and various countries throughout the world, etc. They also have some great concerts.

You can record these onto your DVR and watch them whenever you want.

Let us know if you end up getting the HD box. :wave2:

If we like it with normal cable, I am sure HD will be great. However I am not a big rush to change person so I am happy that we don't have to run out and get it right now. I am sure we will change over eventually. The guy at CC wanted to sell us comcast instead of WOW that we have now, but I don't want to change my email so I will just look into things.

I swear if we could find a good thing to do with our perfectly fine 27 inch in the living room we would get a 2nd T.V.

No, actually at the end of 2006 according to FCC:

http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/consumerfacts/digitaltv.html

From that article:

When Will the DTV Transition Be Complete?

Television stations serving all markets in the United States are airing digital television programming, although they still must provide analog programming until the target date set by Congress for the completion of the transition to DTV - December 31, 2006. That date may be extended, however, until most homes (85%) in an area are able to watch the DTV programming. At that point, broadcasting on the current (analog) channels will end and that spectrum will be put to other uses.

It started out as 1998 and has been and will be pushed back many times
