:) I was just wondering if any of the people out there have been involved in memorable marriage proposals at any of the Disney properties (Disney Land, Disney World, Disney Cruise Line, etc.) ?Thanks!:) :) :bounce: :bounce:

I saw some young college kids get engaged in the France pavilion at Epcot last October.

There have been a number of very heartwarming and touching posts that people have put up on their proposals at WDW - most of them seem to be at Cinderella's castle.

I proposed on a Grand Floridian balcony, facing the MK at night.

My husband and I were in Cinderella's castle for lunch and when it was time for dessert....the waiter came out with the tray and on it was a glass slipper with my ring in it! My husband was on his knee proposing to a crowd of onlookers! It was wonderful. A waiter also caught the whole thing on tape for us! We then had a fairy tale wedding and are living happily ever after!

Hi Eeyore! Could you or anyone else please tell me where I can get a glass slipper? Thanks!:)

The restuarant supplied the one that they used and of course I really wanted it. So we asked if we could buy it and they let us (of course) only if we would replace it...so we went and bought one at The Kings Gallery which is located inside the castle walkway. I think is was about 30$. Good luck!

Well, since it as *my* wedding proposal, I consider it to be very memorable. :)

Here's the story:

This was my first WDW trip since I was 9 years old. And it was the first REAL vacation John and I had taken together. We arrived at the Caribbean Beach Resort on November 6, 1997, and immediately ran off to the Magic Kingdom to take in the sights. Ah, what a wonderful day! We topped off the day by having a very nice romantic dinner in Cinderella's Castle, followed by the MK Fireworks. As we left the castle and came to the Partners statue, we stopped to take in the site of the castle all lit up. There was another couple there, and John asked them to take our picture. He handed the wife of the couple my camera, and I looked at him and said, "How do you want to take this picture?" He asked me to stand up by the statue, which I did. As I turned around to look at him, ready for the picture to be taken, he got down on one knee and pulled out a ring as he took my hand in his. I wish I could say I remember what he said, but I was so blown away by this that all I can remember is the intense surprise and joy I felt. I know it was the sweetest thing he had ever said, and I cried "Yes!" over and over as we hugged in front of the castle. The funniest part of the story is that the poor wife couldn't get my camera to work. In the dark, you have to hold down the button to let the flash charge. She just quickly pressed it, not realizing, and thus didn't take the picture. After a few moments of hugging, John looked over my shoulder at the woman and said "Please tell me you got that picture!" She nearly burst into tears. We felt so bad for her. We should her how to work the camera, and then "reenacted" the moment. But I had this big dopey grin on my face throughout the entire thing. :-) We tried to calm her as she seemed so upset, and told her that this would make a funny, memorable part to our engagement story, and not to worry about it. :-) That is by far my favorite WDW moment!! :-)

another thing that I can think of is maybe they will do something special at Victoria and Alberts restaurant.

I actually proposed to my wife at the top of the Empire State Building, but the first night I met her, we jokingly agreed that we should go to WDW for our honeymoon. The Disney magic must have worked, because almost exactly two years later, we there we were!

Lots of good luck to you, Shuvo! :)

My fiance proposed to me on the first night of our most recent WDW vacation, in our room at the Polynesian, last June! He had champagne, roses, and strawberries sent in - it was a wonderful surprise and a perfect beginning to an amazing vacation!

I love to hear these stories, as well! :)

I just wanted to share that after 8 1/2 years together, my boyfriend just proposed to me the other night (Tues, Dec 18) and he did it when we were at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party and in Main Street under the snow that Disney creates during Christmas time. It was awesome. Now time to start planning that Disney wedding!!!

Congratulations, Kris517!!!!! That is wonderful news! And a very special story! Thanks for sharing it with us! And lots of good luck and happiness to you both! :)

Thank you so much, and as I see from your posts, congrats to you as well.

Best Holiday wishes!!!!!

Krista

Congrats to both of you! That is so exciting. :) WDW is such a romantic place!

My boyfriend and I just got back from a truly magical trip to WDW. We stayed 4 nights in the Polynesian, which was incredible. It was so romantic, with the beach and the view of Cindereall's castle... I made SURE he knew how romantic I thought the place was, in case he ever wanted to propose to me there. [laugh] I also made sure we walked by the Wedding Pavillion a few times. :) We even saw a brick in the walkway of someone proposing to their girlfriend. I commented on how sweet that was. Hopefully, he will get the hint one day.

:)

That is perfect. I am sure he will pick up on the hints, mine did since he knows how much I love it there. My boyfriend and I fell in love with Disney and after he proposed, he told me at least 10 different ideas he had and could not make up his mind ( it was a two week trip and he waited until our last day!). It is just so pretty there. In fact, he just asked me a little while ago if I called Disney and ordered the Wedding promo video!

Krista

PS: another good hint is to look at the figurines and frames with Mickey and Minnie in wedding attire! LOL

;)

Thanks Tracy Jean! :) And I agree with you and Krista - WDW is the most special and romantic place in the world! DF and I went to WDW together for the first time in 2000. It was his first time ever there, but I had been there many times before, and he knew that it was my favorite place in the world. His proposal meant even more since he chose WDW (specifically our room at the Poly) in which to do it, and now it's an even more special place for both of us! Lots of good luck to you and your boyfriend, Tracy Jean!

And happy holidays to you! And to you too, again, Krista! :)

I got engaged on wednesday, October 31, 2001!! My favorite holiday is Halloween. My boyfriend and I were in WDW for 8 days, and I had hinted that I would love to get engaged someday in Disney. We attended the MNSSHP, and I was absolutely in heaven with all the holiday decorations, events, etc. Well, we got ready for the Halloween fireworks, which we had already seen on the MNSSHP on the 28th. We sat on a bench near the walkway to Tomorrowland, facing the Castle. As the fireworks started, the sky was illuminated, and the music was playing!! He said he had a small Halloween gift for me, and he proceeded to get on his knee in front of many people dressed in costume. he handed me a Mickey doll with a pumpkin in his hands, wih a ring box inside. I too was so overwhelmed that I just kept nodding yes!yes!...I'm not quite sure what he even said!!! It was the most perfect day of my life. We will be honeymooning in WDW, hopefully at the Poly concierge...
