I took my best friend into NYC to see Promises, Promises this past Saturday for her 50th birthday. Kristin Chenowith and Sean Hayes (Will & Grace) were in it. I am a huge KC fan and she was awesome, as usual. She's such a little bit of a thing and to hear her belt out a song is just unbelievable. She's truly beautiful, too. Sean Hayes' voice was just OK, but his comedic timing and his mannerisms totally won me over. I have to say, however, that the woman who played Marge McDougall (whose name is Katie Fineran) really stole the show. She reminded me a lot of Bernadette Peters. She was soooo funny and had a fabulous stage presence. This show is still in previews, but I believe they have a hit on their hands. The theatre was packed. This show definitely gets :thumbsup2:thumbsup2from me.

I saw it at the beginning of April and my review is the same as yours. I love Sean Hayes; he was great in "Damn Yankees" as well.

Glad you enjoyed it as much as I did!

You guys are SO lucky. :worship:
I am a major Kristin Chenowith fan. She is so beautiful and sings amazingly. One night I stumbled on to a PBS concert and she was singing opera. It's hard to picture a woman who could be Barbie sing opera. She is so gorgeous and talented.

Oh, I've been wanting to see this show. I'm guessing they are predicting a hit since I've gotten none of the discount/incentives I get on new shows.

Yes, she does look very "Barbie-ish".:rotfl: Her training was as an opera singer. I always crack up when she talks and has that little squeaky voice, but man when she sings......:worship: About 10-12 years ago, we took my daughter's 5th grade class to see You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown in which she was a lead. After the show, she came out and signed autographs, took pictures with the kids and spent a lot of time talking with them, etc.--very sweet and very down to earth,

Thanks so much for sharing. Hoping next year NYC is one of our destinations. Sure hope this one is still playing, sounds fantastic!
