I was debating on going to my upcoming 8th grade banquet...

It costs 30$ not including the dress and such..But then realized that the 100$ I would spend is really cheap for what could possibly be the last time I see half of those people

at my school prom is HUGE! only juniors and senior get to go. some of the freshman go becuase there boyfriends are seniors.. tickets are $65..you start fundraising for your prom when your a freshman and every year you keep fundraising. then when your a senior you only have to pay like $65, usually they have the prom-dance part at a hotel downtown (chicago) then they have a after party on a boat on the river... im only a freshman so i won't be going...

This is what I did.

$40 for tickets
$100 for tux
$135 per hour for regular limo for 5 hours
$10 for refreshments
$40 for flowers
$50 for dinner

All that equals $915. Not exactly $1000, but still too much. I don't want to pay that, or even $400 to go to a done up school dance.

You don't pay 135 dollars for your own limo for you and your date. Thats your first big no no. You and your date will appreciate a large group going all in one limo. And with that you split the cost. Get about 5 couples and each guy pay $135 for an hour. Works out a lot better.

Secondly. You don't have to buy flowers. The corsage you get her will be enough.

And you may not want to pay the money, but your date will really appreciate it. And if she's like most girls, prom is a HUGE deal to her and wants it to be a happy memory.

Wow, the prom tickets at my school cost $55 dollars (exspensive), and it's only for juniors and seniors, so I'm not going, but I doubt that anyone will ask me in the next two years. That's alright though, it's not the end of the world.

big deal. its not that big of a deal. i hate being alone also. i was fortunate that i have a friend who was older than me who asked me to hers and then i asked her to mine. shes like my sister so we went together and then my friend who is a year younger than me(obviously) just asked me to hers so im going to go. if i didn't have my older friend, i was going to go to mine alone. so u just hang out with ur friends and have a good time. its not that big of a deal

Yeahh..Me and my freind kendra said we will 'Go together' if we dont get dates.. No were not 'like that' but as a joke XD
