Okay, so Project Runway is back in New York this go 'round.

And we here in Orlando have a home town boy to root for as well. Jesse LeNoir is a local actor who also works as a designer. Scott and I have actually seen him in a couple shows around town.

I haven't seen the first episode yet but plan to catch it on the DVR tonight.

Anyone else excited about this season?

One thing I'm really happy about already is that Tim is posting his blog after every episode again. I really missed it last season and Tim's Take was always one of my favorite parts of the Project Runway experience.

I am!! I also dvr'd it and will watch it this weekend. I never read Tim's blog, I'll have to check it out.

It always takes me about 3-4 episodes to get into it, because I usually end up not being able to STAND half of the designers. But I was happy to say that no one immediatly irritated the hell out of me right off the bat so that was a good sign.

Is anyone else noticing how bad the quality of the picture is on Lifetime? I'm so use to the clear, HD Bravo. Lifetime looks like it's filmed with a hand held camera.

Anyhoo, looks like it's going to be some fun, colorful characters this season and some pretty talented ones too.

The actual designers seem a bit more entertaining and individual from a personality perspective than last season. The first challenge didn't have any "Ohhhh-muh-gawd" bad designs like the last couple seasons, which shows potential.

And yes, the Orlando boy is very familiar with Jack Sparrow at WDW. :rolleyes1

Haven't seen that yet.

But we did see a show called "The Little Dog Laughed" where he played a rent boy and spent considerable time in just his tighty whities. :thumbsup2

It could be the frame rate their cameras are shooting at, which makes it look more like video than film. (30fps, as opposed to 24.) Maybe Lifetime switched their cameras up in order to make it a cheaper show to put on the air. :confused3 But I did notice a couple really bad edits last night.

I missed a bit of the start, saw all the runway, and saw the very end, but I don't remember what the Aufed person did. OMPug, I am so glad it is back in New York, it seems right. I hardly watched last season at all,m so booooooooring.

We like this show, but missed the first episode. Tend to lose track of these shows when they stop airing for a time. Will have to play catch-up.

Given the changes, Rob would you please tell me what station, day and time it's on now? Thank you!!!!

All I know is if nobody knows how to do couture this season (especially during a challenge that requires the garment to be couture) I'm gonna throw hard objects at the screen.

The move from Bravo to Lifetime is a big :sad2:, horrible move (yes, I know the drama that happened between the company and the two networks).

Stopped caring about this show along time ago-
and Just where are these winning designers anyway?
Don't see any of them setting the Fashion world on fire.
:confused3
Sorry... you are out!

One designer created a line for QVC, Khloe Dau. Jeffery (?) that has Cosa Nostra, he is still around, he had done another big show I think. But I don't know if any of them really hit the "big time".

I do think this season will be OK, especially after the fiasco last year. So hard to tell with so many designers and so little time to do anything.

Laura Bennett also designed a line for QVC.

Austin Scarlett was the head of the Bridal department at one design house.

Several of the designers from past seasons are enjoying various levels of success in the industry.

Tim's link please!

I believe Christian has been designing a lot of custom clothes for celebrities, but not much for the retail world.

I cannot tell you how happy I am that Tim's Take is back!! I wonder how much flack Lifetime received about them not doing it any more?

I know I fired off an email to complain that it wasn't there for last season.

Well, Ping is gone and even though she seemed like a nice person overall, I can't help but think it was about time....

That said, she was one of the few designers who managed to emerge as a distinct individual. Its always so hard keeping track of who's who at first. And a couple of weeks in I always seem to be surprised to see a designer I never noticed before.

Anyone have any favorites yet?

Okay, I know I'm late with this but . . .

They had TEN collections show at Bryant Park last Friday?!?!?!?!?

Really?

That's seven decoys!

Wasn't the part of making it to the finals that was "special" that they got to show at Bryant Park?

Doesn't that diminish the accomplishment of the finalists?

I'm not even sure who I'm rooting for this season yet! :rotfl: (though I do like Jesse and Ben, the two local guys competing.)
