Project Runway, Season 5 Official Discussion Thread.

Could they pick Kenely to put the Screws to Lifetime? I do feel they had to go with 4 because everyone was so rotten to Kenely, I don't think they should have showed all of that.

To pass the time until the show comes on, lets talk past seasons.
Which season was your favorite
Which designer is your favorite of all the seasons
What do you think was the funniest scene in all the past seasons?

For me, the favorite season was season 2
Favorite designer... probably Uli?
Funniest scene - when Santino did the impression of Tim on a date with Andre at Red Lobster. :lmao:

Oh, and who is that model that the show in the preview where they say we know you and Kenley says something about them acting up. Was that the model from season one that was a bunch of trouble? Her name escapes me.

The model is Morgan from season 1 or as Jay used to call her, Morganza. She was a total drama queen.

As far as my favorite season I would have to say it's a tie between 2 and 4. My favorite all time designer is Christian from season 1 although Nick from season 2 is a close second.
The funniest moment has to be Santino impersonating Tim. Hysterical!!

Oh man, if Kenley wins I'm going to be yelling and throwing things at the tv (better stock up on a supply of rolled up socks so I don't accidently throw something hard :rotfl: ) Poor Obi-Wan.. he has to go to bed early because he has to go into work at 5:30 a.m. For his sake, anyone but Kenley better win.

If they pick Kenley, I think you are going to hear the collective scream from 'sea to shinging sea'!! :scared1:

I think all in all my favorite is still season 1 and favorite designer remains Austen :goodvibes I agree that Santino's impression of Tim remains a highlight that would be hard to match! :lmao:

OMG Santino doing Tim....all the way! (From the sound of it, I think it's going to be the winner of the favorite moments contest)

I enjoyed last season a LOT. I think it makes the top of my list. Christian was so fierce! ;)

I am afraid that Kenley is going to win also. I swore after the whole Jeffrey win that I wouldn't watch Project Runway anymore. It just makes me sad that "Attitude, Rudeness and Disrespect" can be the winner

I really want Leann to win.

That's why I quit watching Survivor. It wasn't the people who actually knew how to survive in the wild, it was the people who knew how to get by and backstab. Too much like the real work world for my viewing taste. Poop floats.

I hope anyone but Kenley wins.

Hmm... my favorite designer to watch (or to be friends / hang out with) would have to be Chris.
Favorite season: Three (except that Jeffrey won :()
Favorite designer to wear would be oh boy, I can't believe I'm blanking on the name - the man from Season 4 who did all the draping... Rami!

Only 5 minutes to go....
I'm with the "Kenley better not win" camp. Leeann has really grown on me, I wish Korto hadn't funked out on the bridesmaid dress challenge. Those 2 dresses were too similar in color and the bride dress just looked frumpy. The last guy left...he LEFT because the poor boy can't seem to sew. At ALL.

agnes!

Please tell me that Kenley didn't just tell that reporter that "Anyone that had good taste would like her collection" That girl seriously doesn't have an edit button on her mouth, does she?

Laureen, I haven't seen you around in a while. I hope that you're doing well and that you woke up Obi-Wan to tell him who won.

I'll save all other comments for tomorrow after the west coast watches.

I thought these photos were sweet of Tim and Heidi. Makes me kinda sad to think that Project Runway will no longer be on Bravo. I don't have much faith that the show will last long on Lifetime. I think they are going to kill it.

well:confused3 where is everyone?

I was very happy with the winner. I think they all did a great job, even Kenly. That girl cannot shut her mouth though:sad2:

So, is this show changing networks?

I thought Kenley's comment was interesting when Tim was revealed as the fourth judge, about how maybe she should have listened to him?

And I really don't get the judges' concern that Leanne might only have one theme in her, and become known as the Petal Designer (yes, I know, not the term they used, but I want to finish this and get to sleep before the current airing ends :)). I mean, she showed a WIDE range during the season, even winning two weeks in a row - and never once did (a) they express concern about her creativity or (b) Leanne use "petals", at least to any great extent - especially since her inspiration for her Bryant Park collection was the time she spent sitting by the ocean after the final three went home to create their respective collections. Plus, yes, her collection IS cohesive. It really, truly could be found in the closet of a single client. Can't say the same for Kenley's, and while Korto's line was striking, Leanne was the correct choice.

That's funny, I was thinking the same thing. I think she was the most diverse designer of the bunch. Sometimes I think the judges like to hear themselves talk:sad2:

Leeanne's clothes were beautiful. I'm not sure they would have looked good on me, but I didn't care. They were so beautifully crafted.

Korto's collection was attractive, but the finish...that one dress was so long it looked like the model was going to trip. I LOVEDlovedloved her first dress - gorgeous! And that green dress was wonderful as well. One thing I noticed is that the drsigners didn't seem to design colors for skin-tones all that well. Some of the outfits...if they'd been on a darker/lighter/blonde/brunette they could have been stunning. Do the designers know ahead of time which models will be wearing which dress? Again she stuck with that odd grey/silver palette for an outfit. Ugh.

I thought Kenley's stuff looked like she'd raided the "Dynasty" costume warehouse. And her understanding of clothing history...very very sad. I'm not sure she even knew who Balinciaga is/was. It's like the American Idol contestants who think the 2007 remake is the original...when the original was actually done in the '60s or before.

And who did the hippy(as in padded hips) dress? Didn't Leeanne do that already this season?

agnes!

I though Leanne and Korto both had beautiful collections, but I was pulling for Leanne! Her designs were so unique and just visually stunning. They also looked both substantial and eatheral at the same time if that's possible. I just loved it.

I did like a few of Kenley's dresses (black dress, the two handpainted dresses), but I was not impressed overall. I swear my sister had the bubble dress circa 1985.

Kenley's collection was just awful. Did you see the look on the judges faces? They didn't seem to be enjoying it either.

Koto's was pretty good. I don't know why she wanted to make 2 new dresses. Wouldn't it have been easier to edit two already made? It was cute when she finally showed some personality on the runway "don't I look hot?":)

LeAnne had a wonderful collection. It was simple, elegant, and beautifully made. Her designs were complicated, but looked effertless. She really deserved to win.

I was really hoping that Leanne would win, but fearing that Korto would... not that I'd be overly upset, but I thought Leanne's collection was the most cohesive and the most beautiful. I just wanted to put on some of Leanne's dresses and shimmy back and forth to make the petals swing back and forth.

Wasn't it Korto who made the dress with the hip wings? Kenley's dress with the rope and the extra color on the hip was similarly shaped. What woman wants to wear a dress that makes her hips look like they are huge?

The interesting thing about Kenley is that even without knowing who the other designers are, she was creating similar pieces. She has to be looking at some sort of fashion magazine to know what is currently being shown, don't you think? Maybe she's just not paying attention to the name of the designers who create them.

Actually, Kenley did a big-hipped dress earlier in the season (episode 3). It's actually almost just like one from her final collection:

I was pleased with all of the final collections -- even Kenley's. I adored the cream silk dress with the vine of flowers painted diagonally. That was truly gorgeous. However, I was even more pleased when Kenley got auf'd first... justice, sweeeeet justice!

I would have been happy to see either Korto or Leeanne win, but I think Leeanne deserved it more based solely on her body of work.
