Progressive Auto Insurance

Uninsured/Underinsured coverage is for bodily injury only, it does not cover any property damage (including your car). So I don't know how that made any difference in your case.

In some states it also pays for property damage. Most states it only pays for bodily injury.

Couldn't pay me to go back with Progressive. We had them for a few years because of their supposed "low rates." However, I was involved in an accident, and it was like pulling teeth to get them to pay up. They even refused to pay for something on the car because they said it didn't happen in the wreck - um, yeh, the car was brand new, 10 days old, $18000 worth of damage, and you can assure me the scratch on that window didn't happen in the wreck, even though there was extensive body damage on that side - whatever!

The body shop finally called me after trying to get in touch with the adjuster for 5 days to bring them payment so they could release the vehicle to me. They asked me to intervene. I called the 800# because that's all I had, and they transferred me to the adjuster. I told her what the body shop had told me, and she immediately started going off on me and said no one had called her and they were lying!! I just said, "okay, can you give me the number they should be calling?" No lie, her response, "Well, you just dialed it, didn't you??" Our conversation ended there and I asked for her supervisor. The girl was an absolute witch!!

When our policy renewed, they doubled our premiums, and I inquired with Allstate, who actually gave us a much better policy for lower premiums that we had originally before the accident. I did inquire with the owner of the body shop about which companies were the easiest to work with from his perspective. Allstate, State Farm, Nationwide, and USAA. He said Progressive was one of the worst he had dealt with in wanting to deny everything, put off payment, etc.

We were also on the other end with Progressive a few years after my accident. My husband was rear-ended while out of town in Atlanta. Minor damage, but it still added up to almost $2000. Progressive was the carrier for the person who was charged with the accident. We sent them the quote from the body shop which they approved. Then waited and waited, made multiple phone calls, everyone always had an excuse, it will be in the mail this afternoon, yada, yada, yada. Five weeks later, DH got fed up and just drove to the office unannounced (5 hours away). Sat down and said he wasn't leaving until he had a check in hand. They handed it to him in 15 minutes. Give me a break!!

Can you tell I absolutely hate them??? I'm sure all insurance companies have their bad apples, but I'd rather eat nails than deal with those people again!

I love Progressive. Someone hit me from behind and crunched their car up. But mine had almost NO damage. Just a tiny little thing on the bumper that I would never have fixed, anyway.

$800 for nothing.

That's why I love Progressive. :)

Hmmmm. Maybe they got your name mixed up with ours.
You got $800 for nothing.

We got NOTHING for well over $800 damage......:confused3

Looking for new car insurance and the quote I got from them was very good. Any opinions?

Hmmm. Guess that's why they say to shop around. I just got a quote from Progressive about three weeks ago, and their quote was pretty much DOUBLE my two lowest quotes. Glad they were low for you, though.
