My DH is taking an elective course, and the teacher is demanding that he get his test proctored in Disney. We are going the first week of December...the test is on the 8th. He asked if her could take it early (before we leave) or right when we get home...she said it has to be the 8th. Grrrr!!!!
So my DH tried to drop it and he was 1 day late to do that! :sad2: So if he drops it now, we lose $750. :confused3
So question?
Does anyone know if there is a place in Disney to proctor an exam for my DH?:teacher:

Thank you!!!

This is a difficult question! I have no idea what the qualifications are for a proctor but I would think you might call the local Communty Colleges and see if they have someone that can help you. I guess you would have to pay somone? There wouldn't be anything official at Disney for this, but is it something that could be done in your hotel room?

You may need to plan to rent a car so he can get to a location for this.

There are a lot of Orlando locals on the Community Board so you might ask this there and see if anyone there know anything about this.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write me. My poor DH is so stressed about it. We are driving down, so we will have a car. I guess that helps. I cannot believe this teacher is being so unreasonable. It is just an elective course for him. He even asked if he could take it early. Oh well.

Thank you so very much!!!

Hi djcandyrocker,

I'm not sure if I can help you or not, but I thought that I was going to be in the same situation on my upcoming October trip, but I had just gotten the date wrong, whew!

I go to school through Columbia College online, and they have a branch campus there. I see from your siggy that you are staying at CBR, so I did a map on Yahoo, and the distance between CBR and the Columbia College extension was 18.4 miles one way.

Unfortunately, though, our December semester (and theirs) will end one week after you DH's so I don't know if they will proctor a test for you at that time or not, but the location I use at home is really good about this, even though they say publicly that they will not do it. HTH!

Amy!

THANK YOU THANK YOU!
I really appreciate you going to all that trouble to give me the information!
My DH just called the director, and they could not believe how difficult the teacher was being. They are gonna try to reschedule it for before we leave. Whew!
Thank you for all your help!

Have you checked the Test/Exam Center at UCF--University of Central Florida.

They may be able to arrange to hae the exam proctored or might already be proctoring it????

Can you check with the exam authorities for Orlanod locations?

UCF is east of Orlando and parking can be a PITA, but....

FWIW

I will check it out just in case. I think they might be able to reschedule it for before we leave...whew!
I am gonna keep all the info just in case they cannot reschedule it...
Thank you!

No problem. I hope that he can get it rescheduled and not have to take time out of your vacation!

You could also do a google search for a Sylvan learning center or Pearson testing center and they would probably do it for a fee.

How about a library? I'm a part time clerk in a public library in PA and we proctor tests all of the time. Maybe there's an Orlando library willing to do it for you. Also, I don't know about down there, but we do it for free. The only thing your hubby would have to pay for is to fax it or mail it. Good luck! Don't let it ruin your vacation!

i unfortunately had this same problem with an accounting course i am taking this semester. my class was suppose to be on thurs night 5-8 and the exam on a thursday night, but our plane is leaving at 235 I advised my instructor of this 2 weeks before school started when he was assigned to class and asked him if i could take the exam early that i was going on a 4 generation trip to wdw. my teacher was VERY UNsympathetic and responded to my email that i better get all the points that i can early in the semester (meaning i was not able to take it early) I was so upset i was advising him 4 months in advance.

so i had to switch to a tu/th class and now have to work late every tuesday until 10pm and be back to work at 630am i just hate it because i already dont get to see my dd4 sometimes because we are so busy and i wouldnt know what to do without my mom and grandma around.

the only thing is the new exam for the tu/th class is 10-1145am on the day we leave for WDW so i will be packing the car for the airport the night before taking my exam and driving right to the airport so that we are there 2 hours before take off as their terms state.

I am glad to hear that your DH was able to get the exam rescheduled but i never thought of that.

amanda

p.s. unfortunately this wasnt an elective and if i wouldnt have switched i wouldnt have been able to graduate on may 9th
