Problems Booking BWV in Nov?

Hello All,

I am in serious need of some input and info about trying to get a ressie at BWV from 11/25/07-11/30/07. Has anyone tried to book at BWV for around that time period lately? Someone else from another thread suggested that they may already be booked up. If that is so, I want to go ahead and book at SSR (home resort) instead of waiting until end of April and having hopes dashed when I find out that there is no room left at BWV. Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, MegansMom

I would strongly advise to book at SSR now while you still have home resort booking advantage. That becomes your back up plan in case BWV is not available at 7 months. This assumes you want to go to WDW even if you can't get BWV.

I think you have a decent chance of getting BWV for that time at 7 months for a Preferred View - Pool/Garden. I would say you would have little chance of getting Standard View or Boardwalk View rooms at that time. Even if you don't get a reservation at BWV at 7 months, you can go on the waitlist and it may work out for you.

Worst case...you spend that time at SSR. Not a bad worst case, and fewer points used too!

If I were you I WOULD book at SSR, and then try to change. Why? Because that's a very popular time for DVC. I would want to know that I have something booked. Will you be able to get preferred/garden BWV right at 7 months, without a waitlist for any of the dates? Maybe. Are you trying to get Standard view, or Boardwalk view? What type of villa? 1 bedroom...is more likely.

Best wishes, but I would book SSR now, just because, I really just want to know that we've a ressie, and we're going to WDW at my DH's favorite time of the year.

I really don't know why I didn't think about going ahead with the reservation at SSR, and then trying to switch it to BWV in April. We are looking to book 2 Standard view studios at BWV for 11/25/07-11/30/07--which I realize might be very difficult to come by. I think I will just go ahead and book at SSR, hope for the best at BWV, but if it doesn't work out--oh well! We will still have our ressie at SSR. We were looking to stay at BWV because it is so centrally located to all the parks. Has anyone ever stayed at both BWV and SSR to compare bus ride trips to MK? Our DD is 3, so we spend SEVERAL days at MK, so that is usually the only park we are concerned about getting to quickly. Any input and advice is appreciated!

Between October 1st and Christmas is VERY popular at BWV - and standard view is only about 20% of the resort, studios are the most popular room type. You could get lucky - its happened before, but with wanting two standard view studios, my guess is that you should plan on staying at SSR.

Buses to the MK from BWV aren't great - its a great park to be able to get to Epcot or MGM, but if MK is your destination, I don't think BWV offers a benefit. VWL offers an advantage in getting to the MK over the other resorts - but it is also very popular at that time of year and is a small resort.

I am going the same time as you are and I booked at the exact day 11 months out for my standard and boardwalk view villas. At the 10 month window I tried to get another standard view studio for only two nites any two nites that week and they were gone. I got on a wait list and was notified this week that theyy came thru for me. I would get on a waitlist but I wouldn't count on getting it and have a backup plan.
