DS17 built a light saber back in December and it isn't working right. The sounds still work but the light won't stay on. He doesn't play with and has only had it out a few times to show people. Has anyone else had an issue with this or heard of it being and issue? Thanks.

I had a problem with my Savi's light saber that I purchased back in 2019 but the problem is not what your son is experiencing. My blade lit up but it was only red, no matter what kyber crystal was in the hilt (yellow, blue, purple, green). I tried to speak to Disney Customer Service BUT they were completely clueless about this item. They wanted pictures etc but couldn't view anything I sent them & this went back & forth for WEEKS. I just gave up working with them because they could not help me. I went back to WDW in March 2021 & brought my malfunctioning light saber with me & at the Savi's check in desk, I explained my problem. The CM took my saber in the back & brought it back & told me she had to change the hilt core & even the blade. I also mentioned that my carrying case had a hole in it & she gave me a brand new one. Everything was replaced at no charge which amazed me. I'm sorry, I didn't ask if there was a number to call to get assistance for people who are not in Florida any longer.

Initially, my blade was jammed into the hilt incorrectly so we had to force it out. Have you tried to take out the blade & reseat it? Push in & twist or twist & pull out?

Thanks, we are heading back to Disney in a couple of weeks, so we may just take it with us to see if they can help.

Disney should definitely have some knowledge or provide assistance for those that purchase lightsabers from Savi but don't live in Florida or California expecially since they cost 219 dollars now. Some kind of online form or number you could call for defective lightsabers so people can mail them in for repairs, exchange, or worst case refund.

Did you try removing the blade? If you push down on the blade (grip close to the hilt) and twist right the blade will come out. We just built ours a few weeks ago, I noticed my daughters made a sound when waving and when you she hit something. Mine did it for a bit but then stopped. I removed the blade and put it back on and problem was fixed.

Thank you!! He tried it and it seems to be working. We're back at Disney next week, so he'll test it out this week to see if it lasts. :cool1:
