Has anyone tried it? Does it work? Do you recommend it?

Thanks. :wizard:

It doesn't work for my DD, but she has several friends for whom ProActive has worked wonders. As long as you don't have a sensitivity to Benzoyl Peroxide, I'd say give it a try and see how it works for you. If you don't have any luck with the ProActive, then it might be time to see a dermatologist.

Didn't work for my son either - he ended up on Accutane

Ok, so apparently its not very good. Do you guys have any other acne treatment that works? Not anything prescription, but something like clean and clear? :flower3:

check out the skin care boards on makeupalley, you will prob get some really good advice there.

Dr. told my DS just to use Cetaphil to wash with and I have heard others getting the same advice. Some times using harsh soaps and washing to often can make acne worse. If you have tried everything you might just have to go to Dr.
Lots of folks are just started on an antibiotic and alot of times that works just great!! My DS did that and a cream called Differin to help with the black heads, which it did. It could be drying, so he got to where he only used it every night instead of twice a day and was very specific about where he put it. He didnt just slap it on his whole face.

PS if you havent tried everything here is the link for skincare treatment reviews on MUA.
LOL im telling i cant live with out that board

It CAN be good, depending on your skin type and the type of acne you're trying to treat. You won't know if it works for you until you try it. There is a cheaper version of ProActiv at Wal-Mart, I think it's called Acne Free.

My poor DD has been battling acne for awhile now, and she's only 12. She used Differin along with an antibiotic at first, and it was working great. Then it just stopped working for her. That's when she tried ProActiv, but that didn't work too well, either. Now she's using Retin-A, which also isn't great. I thought that taking her to the dermatologist would be like waving a magic wand and her problem would just poof away, but even working with a dermatologist, it's a trial & error kind of thing. I hope you find what works for you, being a teen is hard enough without having to worry about spots!

I am in my late 30's and have never had great skin, but after my son was born I had problems with acne..not severe per say, but not nice either.

I first tried Serious Skin Cares acne line and it is great..its main ingredient is salicylic acid which is a bit easier on the skin than Benz Per..it is also a 3 step process that works wonders...

That being said, it worked or a very long time and then the acne won the battle and I went to ProActiv....I think the stuff is WONDERFUL!!! I can say that I have not had a single pimple in a very long time!

They are both wonderful products. The key to both systems is to follow all steps religiously ..and if you order the Serious Skin Care line rom HSN.Com, it comes with a 30 mondy back guarantee..youcan use the product for several weeks and if it does not work for your skin, you can return it for your full refund...

Ha! Your tellin' me! Thanks everyone! I'll talk to my mom about it and hopefully we can find something. Thanks again! :grouphug:

I used it as a teenager and it worked for a few years. I stopped using it once I was in college and couldn't afford it anymore. I just ordered the 30 day trial for $19.95 last week and here's hoping it will work! I'll keep you posted.

So basically its a hit or miss? Either it works or it doesn't? :confused3

I had really bad acne and I started using it end of July this past year and it's made such a huge difference in my skin. I do get occassional breakouts but nothing like I use to do.

Proactive did nothing for me.

I've been using a line called Ice Elements for 2 weeks and am LOVING it!!

I use proactiv but it's really drying out my skin.. Its flaking off. Although it has really helped my forhead
