Private Vehicles at FW Cabins?

Pardon me if this is a stupid question. Our family has a cabin booked for 8 days in 11/04. I keep reading about the use of golf carts for tooling around FW, or complaints about the long walk to bus transportation at the resort. Nobody mentions their own vehicles.

Are you allowed to keep your own vehicle at the cabins? I've seen many pictures of them, and they all seem to have adequate driveways. Somebody set me straight! And thanks!

Hi- we are also going to the FW cabins on 11/11 and from all the boards and info I have read everyone says your own vehicle is to only go in and out of the resort. If you want to go down to the pool, beach area or elsewhere you must take an internal bus that only runs within FW campground. Hope this helps!:D

hookedondizney is correct. Private motor vehicles (i.e. cars/trucks) are not to be used for driving around to the different areas in the campground. The only place that has vehicle parking spaces is the meadows trading post and those are restricted to 15 minutes. If I remember corectly, there are only 4 or 5 spaces.

Thanks folks! That's what I wanted to hear. I'd rather drive to the parks than wait for the bus.

Don't shy away too far from using the bus system. A lot depends on time of day, park you're going to, etc. Since you have a while before you go, you'll most likely pick up some tips as to how to use the system most efficiently. :D

Especially don't drive to the Magic Kingdom, because you have a drive to the parking lot, then have to take a monorail or ferry over to the magic kingom. It is much easier to take a Ft. Wilderness bus to the boat dock, then straight over to the MK.

We NEVER drive when we stay at FW!!! :bounce: It's so nice to be able to park the van and not need to move it again til it's time to leave.

On our first stay on site back in 2000, my DH wanted to drive to the parks (he likes having his own transportation no matter where we go). I convinced him to just TRY Disney transportation. It only took one day to get him hooked!!! He raves to everyone about how great their transportation system is!! :earsboy:
