Private room in Palo

I am going on the June 8th Alaska cruise with a large group of people. I am unable to book anything until 3/25. I emailed the Disney reservation line and asked about booking Palo for a group of 12. They said that they had a private room that seats 10-14. I have sent a fax request to Travel services and operations to reserve the room. They don't review the requests until 25-30 days before the cruise. Has anyone ever requested the private room and not gotten it? I am thinking I need to make reservations on the 25th if I can and then just cancel them. Also the room is for dinner and not brunch, I was going to try to make brunch reservations also. Our travel agent has our party split into 2 groups. I have no idea why and she said she was going to link all the reservations together before the cruise. Can I reserve 2 tables that seat 6 even though 1 reservation has 4 adults and the other has 8? I am hoping that someone here can help.
Thanks,
Dawn

We were on the Wonder in January and had a group of 8 for dinner at Palo. When we did the reservations online, we had to do two reservations because we had more than 4 rooms and the system would't let them all be linked together. We ended up with a reservation for 6 and one for 2. Our TA told us to go to the Palo desk at Triton's when we boarded and request that the reservations be combined. We did that and it was no problem. We were given the private room at Palo, even though we hadn't asked for it (it was our first cruise and we didn't know it existed!). It was an amazing room with a great view.

Done it the same as you and got it twice.

If our trip on June 1st is any indication of how it normally is you can forget about brunch. I didn't check at the 90 day mark but when I did check a couple days later or 88 day mark every day was sold out. Dinner was not a problem at 90 days though.

We had the private room a few times on different cruises for Brunch. I did not arrange the room beforehand with all the cruise but was assigned there because of the size of our group. We had it on the 2 day cruise out of NYC and also on our Alaska Cruise and also on our Canada cruise of of NYC on Magic.

I thought the private room was where they set up the buffet?

On the Wonder, the buffet is set up in the middle of the restaurant. The private room is great. We were also fortunate enough to be placed there because we had 8 people for brunch on our Alaskan cruise. We all got separate brunch reservations and had Palo combine them when we boarded the ship.

There is a room at the other end.

Gotcha. Never been on the Wonder yet.

But wow... Those pictures... It seems so much...less fancy than on the Dream and Fantasy. Does the rest of the restaurant look like that?

Interesting. Definitely very different feel.

Doesn't mean I won't go though. :)

View attachment 83434 Surprisingly enough I don't really have many pictures of "Palo" - I have lots and lots of pictures of the food - but not of Palo
These are from the Wonder in May 2014

OK these will have to come later -- the picture uploader seems to be broken.

On the Dream/Fantasy there is no real private room but an alcove area where they set up the buffet. On the Magic/Wonder there is a dedicated private room as show in the pic above. My experiences have all been in the private room on Magic/Wonder.

Working for me?
Maybe it's your hosting site?
Now it's not.

Maybe they didn't anticipate how much storage they would need on their servers for all of the pictures being hosted on the site now, rather than being linked?
