private fire pits and other q's?

ok. 7 weeks and counting, taking our class c from michigan to fw for the first time, really excited, have a few questions though.

are their private fire pits at each camp site? or just the community ones, what about bar-b-q's, and if there are some where to get wood?

how big is this place, is it a 2 mile trek from the beach to the petting farm?

what loop did you like and why? have 3 kids 3, 5, 7, requested a premium site with full hook ups, but not sure what loop to ask for

understand there is an internal bus system only circling fw, is this true? do they run all night? best way to get to the parks? bus or boat.

how are the critters in april, don't mind a few, part of camping, but if i can't sit outside why bother, do we need a screen room?

told my kids there are armadillos there, are they around much or are they shy?

don't want to miss a thing, any daily/weekly activities other than the movies, community fires, and mk fireworks from the beach we should look for?

no campfires allowed at the sites, there is a campfire / movie program each evening,

we like the 1400 loop for a preferred site, its close to the campfire program, short walk to pool, meadows trading post, and bike barn.

i'm sure others will help answer some of the other questions,

The petting farm is very close to the marina/beach area. In that same area you'll find the blacksmith shop, the Settlement Trading Post, the Trail's End Buffet, Crockett's Tavern, and the Hoop dee Doo Review!

There are buses that run around the whole campground, but they do not run all night. They start early in the morning and run pretty late (maybe 1am?).

There are armadillos all over the campground, but they are pretty shy and won't come up to you. You'll see them early in the morning behind the campsites. Sometimes you can get close - but they won't let you get too close.

There are some pretty friendly ducks though! They will walk right into your screen tent if you let them! They love to be fed!

The bugs aren't bad at all. We like having a screen tent mostly for the rain. But they keep out the occasional fly or bee too. FW does a very good job of mosquito control.

You and the kids will have a wonderful time!! You won't want to go back to staying at a different resort after this!

removed the pool question, sorry for asking, realize now that wasn't appropriate, just wish fw had a more disney stye pool, but if that were true than fw would be perfect and no one would leave

thanks for the input, requested the 1400 loop when i booked a few months ago, hope we get it, but i think anywhere would be fine.

can't wait, tried to get reservation for hoop de doo, in early april, could kick myself for not doing it earlier, didn't want to spend the money, but now all i can get is a 9:30 res, hopefully we can catch a cancelation and get in earlier once there.

There is a barbecue grill at each site, but I think they prefer you use charcoal, which they will happily sell you at the Trading Posts.

The internal bus doesn't quit running till about 2:30 - 3:00 am to get those last few stragglers in from Pleasure Island.

If at all possible rent a golf cart, bring your own, or bring bicyles to get around inside Ft. Wilderness. The busses do run frequently, but when I've got my scooter at Ft. Wilderness, I seem to have a lot more freedom to get where I want to go. They have parking for golf carts and bicycles at each of the major bus stops, boat docks and places to plug them in and lock up the bikes.
