Hi--I was thinking about maybe setting up a private dining experience on our next trip. We are a family of four and are staying concierge for the first time. My husband and I love the "signature" dining options at WDW, but can't (or really don't have any desire to) take our children (4 and 6mo) there.

Can you have food from the any of the GF on property restaurants delivered via private dining? And I was also wondering about what locations might be possible besides our room (though that's probably our best option).

Who would I contact to set something up? Should I contact the concierge people? (I kind of want to email them and see if they reply since I called and emailed before--they called back but did not reply to the email.)

Thanks for any information.

You can ask the concierge to set something up for you, but they prefer that you deal with Private Dining directly (they have told myself and others that things work out better that way -- less of a chance for miscommunication). You would place the call to Private Dining directly and set up your dinner with them. You can dine in your resort room or in a few other places at the resort (they'll tell you what your options are when you speak with them). As to the dinner menu, they do have a menu that they can e-mail to you. You would place your order from that menu, or if you want something a little different, just let them know and they'll take care of it.

My family has used Private Dining in our room at the GF and in a few other locations. When I was vacationing in WDW last Fall, I dined alone one night at the swimming pool as the sun was setting. It was a very simple meal but was lovely nonetheless.

When I was staying at the GF this Summer, I took photos of a Private Dining meal that was being served in the lobby (I was in the concierge lounge when I took the photos so you'll get a bird's-eye view): click here.

I hope that helps.

Oh, by the way, for one of our Private Dining meals, we had soufflés served from Victoria & Albert's.

Thanks for the replies and photo link. I'll try to call private dining and see what they say.

We have a private dining dinner scheduled for our trip in December. We are meeting up with friends at WDW and will have our arrival night dinner with GF private dining. It will be, weather permitting, on the 3rd floor balcony. I've been working with private dining (Patricia there has been fantastic in helping with the little details). They have been wonderful in suggesting special touches and every time we have called to ask "could you.../can we...." something the answer has been "absolutely!" We have given her a "preliminary order" and she has said if we want anything different, if given enough notice they will do their best to get it for us.

There was no additional charge for the meal other than what was listed on the private dining menu she faxed over. We will have butler service at $50/3 hours.
