Ok so I know i'm stupid but we are leaving for Disney in 2.5 weeks and I haven't made any priority seating reservations, I figured it wouldnt be that busy and we could always eat at The Rainforest cafe or Planet Hollywood at DTD as i thought they didnt take PS but I just found on Tour Guide Mike that they do!!! Help is it to late? Are we going to starve? Can you really not just turn up or make a reservation that morning? Help I'm in the UK i don't even know how to phone the US!
Maybe it wont be so bad, we could always just spend the holidays eating sweets! :mickeybar

It's never too late to call. In fact the sooner you call now, the better your chances are of getting the day/time you want. I don't have the number off hand, but someone will soon I'm sure.

It's not too late to call, and yes there are places you can just walk right up to. Many times people don't show up for their PS. Since you're going during winter break, I would suggest making some PS's now though.
The number is 407-WDW-DINE

BTW- Planet Hollywood is one of the harder places to just walk up and get a table, unless you go during the afternoon. They are usually very busy in the evening, along with most of the other restaurants in DowntownD. If you're planning to eat at any of those in DTD, try to get a PS.

there are also plenty of counter service places that do not take PS's...every park has them you will not starve ! :)

It's definitely not to late to call, if there is anywhere you really want to go. We leave on Saturday for a week, and I just made a couple of PS today (Crystal Palace and Akershus for dinners). The rest of my PS were made last week, right after we booked our trip. Yes, this is an impromptu trip. ;)

You may not be able to get ressies everywhere (we couldn't get Chef Mickey's at any time that worked for us) but I'll bet you could still find openings at some of your choices. Good luck!

To tell you the truth Planet Hollywood and the RFC were the longest waits we had. You are going during a busy week (us too!) so I would advise at least a few table service PS's or you mayl be waiting on line for counter serve.

I make at least one PS every other day and usually for a late lunch. This way I can be guaranteed a fairly healthy meal and a needed break from the parks. Generally speaking the lunch menu is a better value than dinner.

I would make a rough plan and then when you check in just call dining - it will be a free call from the room- and make a few PS's at least for the beginning of the week. Then as the week goes on plan a day or two ahead. If your willing to eat at slightly off typical times you "should" get what you want.

This way you have a few options, especially if you are interested in character dining.

Have a great trip.

It depends which week you are going and how many people and what time.

If you are going Presidents week 2/20-2/27 it's going to be very busy. The week after will be much better.

It's usually much easier to get into places if there are only two people as opposed to a larger family.

Go to the earliest dinners at 5:00 or sometimes the very latest dinners(if at Epcot). But at Planet Hollywood, find out when they open for dinner and be there at that time.
In Epcot I always found Italy, France, Great Britian and Germany difficult to get in without PS, but Morocco, China and Japan easier. Try the Boardwalk, or the Swan/Dolphin which have good resteraunts and are easier to get in. Espeically for a character meals.
If you have children and want to do a character meal I always found it easy to get in the one in the Swan Resort called Gullivers (or whatever they call it at night). The schedule is somewhere on these boards.
In Magic Kingdom those resteraunts always seem crowded so do some counter service during the day and go Downtown at night.

Going the same time as you. I have only made one PS so far, but i need to make more. The one I made was last week and it was 1900 park fare, for 10 people. No problem getting in and that one can be hard to get into.

I wouldn't worry about it at all if we didn't have such a big group, but with a group of 10 people (2 are babies) I don't want to take chances. I will call tmw or so.

Even with out PS there are a ton of good places to eat. Also you can make them there. Once we wanted to eat at Cananda and was told there was no PS. We went there and asked for a table at that time and we got in 5 min waiting.

If you don't have a big group I wouldn't worry at all (unless you want Cheif Mickeys and CRT for breakfest.)
