Has anyone ever printed their boarding passes online as offered by most major airlines? If so, were there any problems encountered at the airport due to these being printed on a home computer printer?

Ok, so we worry too much!!! We plan well in advance so that we can worry for a whole year!!!!:p

We did it with ATA two weeks ago. No problem at all going out, but coming back we tried to print them from the hotel internet cafe and the reservation got locked. When we called, they said the passes cannot be printed at a hotel (?!).
We're trying it again on our trip this weekend and I expect it to go smoothly again. I'll post a report.

Tks for your reply Barb. It just seems strange to have boarding passes printed on regular inkjet or laserjet paper with all the fraud happening in today's society.

Tks again Barb and have a pleasant trip this weekend:Pinkbounc

We did this a few weeks ago and had no problems. When we got to the airport we still had to use the kiosk to check our luggage so it didn't really save any time as we could have done both at the same time. This would be a great time saver if you were traveling with only carry on luggage...but it was fun getting my boarding passes the day before anyways!

This can be a time saver with checked luggage as well. We have printed the boarding pass and checked our luggage at the curb.

tks to you all for your info. I never thought of printing the passes and then checking the luggage curbside. That should save a bit of time!;)

We have done this 3-4 times already with Continental already in the last 2 months. We only travel with carry-ons,so it is perfect for us. Even if your printer only has black ink,it will still work.

And with Continental you can do this 30 hours before and pick "exit row seats" with more legroom(no kids though).

I have a REALLY old printer on my system right now (circa 1993) and printed out our boarding passes for Las Vegas from ATA a couple months ago. NOT a good printer at all, and no problems whatsoever.

We printed our boarding passes with a Northwest flight to Detroit. We had no problems. We did do carryons. As far as being fraudulent, security still checks your passes and a legal picture i.d. to make sure everything is correct.

We found out now that Delta will not allow us to print boarding passes online if we are checking in luggage, which we will be. Oh well.
