I wanted to start printing out images on transfer paper last night, but I hit a snag. When I go to select the type of paper in the printing menu, transfer paper is not an option. There is an option for transparency paper or specialty paper. Should I choose one of these? I googled a bit and I think transparency option is the right option, but I'm not sure. I did a test page and it printed very dark. Will the colors lighten up when I iron on or am I doing something else wrong?

I have an Inkjet 5610 if that helps. I checked the manual for the printer and it tells me how the transfer paper should be loaded, but it doesn't say anything about which type of paper I should select.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

When I print mine, I leave the settings as if I am printing on regular paper. There is no need to change the settings.

The only thing that you will need to do, is be sure if the image needs to be reversed, that you do it yourself before you print it.

About the other settings you mentioned, I do not know.

I am not sure if this helped at all but maybe you could try printing 'normal' and see if the 'dark' goes away.

I have an hp and it says if transfer paper not there to use premium paper choice and choose best printing.
