If we are just going to Magic Kingdom will we still have a chance to see several of the princesses? Also is Toon Town the best place to go right when it opens for the charcaters???

They do have a princess line in toontown and if you can get there right when it opens and get in line it might not be to bad I have never been over there for opening so I am not sure what its like.

In Toon Town, you'll find Cindy, Belle, Snow White, and Minnie. (She's a Princess to me, anyway. :goodvibes ) You can find Jasmine near the flying carpets, and Ariel has her own place in FantasyLand. I don't remember ever seeing Pocahontas or Mulan at MK though.

Oh, and welcome to the DIS.

Thanks for the info and Welcome!!! I just found this site! I LOVE it!!!
This is only our second trip with the kids!! They are 6.5, will be 5 while there, and 15 months.

If you really want to make sure to see characters and have a bit of interaction with them, I'd suggest booking a character meal. That way you are certain to see them, have a chance to talk for a minute or two, and not have to stand in line.

Go to Toontown during parades or fireworks and the lines will be short(er). The line for Ariel's Grotto is always insane. We showed up at 9:30 (it didn't open until 10) and the wait was already 40 minutes - which was the shortest we saw all week.

I waited in line in toontown with DD3 ( she was 2 at the time) for over an hour. It was worth it!! I had no idea that we would be led into a private room with only a few others and 3 princesses. It was so quiet and personal. They kissed her and took lots of pictures and talked to her. She still talks about it. Everyone says that a 2 year old won't remember, but I think she just might remember that. The look on her face was worth any wait. I just can't imagine that it would have been the same at a meal or outside in the park.

In 2006 we saw some "obscure" princesses at PSB at Akershus (Mulan, Alice, Ariel, Jasmine) but waited in line in ToonTown for about an hour to see the "big 3" Cindy, Aurura, and Snow White - but there are no guarantees who will be in Toontown. They list the princesses that are currently appearing at the line entrance so you know who is there.

Then we saw Aurora again and Belle (in peasant dress) in the garden area of France in Epcot. If you're ever wandering through World Showcase and see a Photopass photographer, stop him/her and find out who they are waiting for - we had Aurora and Belle all to ourselves for about 10 minutes because the photographer took us with him to meet them in the garden! Otherwise, we wouldn't have known they were there. We also saw Jasmine and Aladdin in Morocco.

We saw Minnie behind her house in Toon Town, Cinderella, Belle (in yellow gown) and Aurora in the Judges Tent in Toon Town, Ariel in her Grotto (not sure exactly where that is somewhere in MK) Jasmine, Aladdin and Genie in Morroco in Epcot, Belle in peasant dress with Beast in France in Epcot, Mulan with Mushu in China, Mary Poppins in England, we missed Snow White :( Pocohontas, and Alice so I can't help you there!

So, going to TT as soon as the rope drops would be the best way to see the Princesses? We are goin to be there 3/25 and dd wants to see the Princesses.

Another way to see Belle is at Belle's storytime on the Tommorowland side of Cinderella's castle - it runs several times a day and you can even be a part of the story if you're lucky. Belle also does a little meet and greet afterward.

When we were there (in Feb.), Toontown (or at least the character greetings there) opened later than MK did. So, you could go straight back to TT when the rope drops, but then you'd be waiting at the front of the line for an hour for the characters to get there. (The same was true of Ariel's Grotto.) Check the Times Guide as this may not always be the case - and if you are not staying onsite watch out for EMH days at MK. No better than waiting in line for an hour at any other point in the day. We had the best luck (no wait once, and 10-15 minutes twice) going during parades/fireworks.

Having been to many character meals as well as the County Bounty in Toontown, I disagree that the TT experience is necessarily better. At many of the meals, the characters come around and interact several times during the meal. They usually will spend a few minutes at each table, if the people seem interested. (This is not the case at Cinderella's Royal Table - they seem much more rushed there.) On the flip side, TT is better for photography purposes since there is a nice backdrop and you won't get a bunch of dirty plates in your photo. At TT we have seen Belle (in her yellow gown), Cinderella, Suzy (one of Cinderella's mice), and Princess Aurora.

Good luck! :)
