I've ruled out CRT...so what's your opinion/experience, which would you choose and why: 1900 Park Fare or Princess Akershus in Norway? Also, foodwise and character consideration for breakfast vs. dinner as 1900 Park Fare has different characters at each.

We have only eaten dinner at these two restaurants, so I cannot comment on breakfast. We don't love the food at either one. But, we usually go to the Akershus for the Princesses. We like the photo package and my daughter gets to see 5 Princesses (or 4 Princesses and Alice).

However, I do think that Lady Tremaine, Drizella and Anastasia are hilarious at 1900 Park Fare. But, just not worth it to eat at a buffet.

Disclaimer: I've been to Akerhaus (breakfast), but not Park Fare.

Well, there are no princess for breakfast at Park Fare (it's Pooh, Tigger, Alice, and the Mad Hatter), and technically only one princess for dinner (Cinderella). So if you're in it for the princesses, Akerhaus is better on that score.

For food, Park Fare likely has a greater variety. Akerhaus has traditional Norwegian food for lunch and dinner, with a more basic breakfast. Park Frae is a pure buffet, whereas Akerhaus has a cold buffet and plated hot meals.

Akerhaus also includes the photo package with the meal credit.

On the whole, I'd say Akerhaus. Regardless of which you choose, have fun!

We have only eaten at 1900 PF. We had dinner there, and thought the food was very good, with lots of great choices. I would say if you are going for the Princesses, there will be more at Asherkaus, but Lady tremaine and the Stepsisters were a lot of fun at 1900 Park Fare. For us, too, DD really wanted to see Cinderella the most, sto that was a better choice for us.

Disclaimer....While i like a variety of food and some "adult" choices, i'm not so sure I would like some of the more Norwegian choices at Asherkaus...one more reason we chose 1900 PF...for a buffet, it was great!

I would probably do the breakfast at Akershaus. We went there in March and while we weren't overly impressed with the food, the characters were great. I also think there is something about getting there early for a breakfast ressie, the restaurant was not too busy yet and the characters have more time to focus on your children. We had a late lunch at CRT this same trip and the characters seemed kind of disinterested and I wondered if it might be better to catch them in the morning when they're just getting started.
If your children definitely want to see Cinderella you probably should go to 1900 PF. It's been several years since I've been there so I can't comment about the food. We did see Cinderella, along with Ariel, Snow White, and Aurora at Akershaus.
Also I think anytime you choose breakfast for a character meal it is easier on your pocketbook.
I hope you have a great meal!

Thanks for the advice! I didn't realize there was a photo-package, so that is also good news. We'll likely do the breakfast in Norway. Thanks again!

I have eaten at both. I would choose Akershus Breakfast only. 1900PF is too loud and the food is mediocre inho, especially for the children. Akershus has gone downhill in recent times but you'll be safe with breakfast.

Done dinners at both. Will NOT be going back to Akershus for anything but breakfast!

We LOVED 1900PF (both dd's and the 4 adults in the group). We all thought it was one of the best meals of that trip (preferred it to the dinner buffets at both Chef Mickey's AND Crystal Palace), and the characters were WONDERFUL. Lady Tremaine was beyond hysterical, and dd#1 danced with Prince Charming! It was magical!

We did dinner at Akershus that same trip, and . . . well, we saw lots of princesses. The picture package is nice (I think it's always with Belle, as she has a harder time manuevering between tables with her gown, lol) and we got pics of dd's with so many princesses (ALL of their faves). The food was utterly blah. Not too exotic for our tastes at all, just very, very, very bland. The best entree in our group was the traditional Kjotkake (sp?) and we compared it to the Swedish Meatballs at IKEA, at best.

That said, we'll be headed back to Akershus this trip - but ONLY for breakfast! LOL We also have dinner booked for 1900PF again, and are VERY much looking forward to it!

We enjoy both of these places. For my husband, daughter, and I we prefer lunch/dinner at Akershus. We really love the food and my daughter loves seeing all of the princesses all dressed up. My son prefers 1900 Park Fare Dinner and if you have any boys in your party, they would probably agree with him. It is not as princess focused. My son like princesses, but he enjoyed the antics of the stepsisters a lot. Both are great places though.

We've done Akershus for breakfast and lunch and we loved both! Character interaction was wonderful...the princesses spent lots of time with our kids the both times we were there. For lunch we saw Ariel, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine and Cinderella. For breakfast we saw Belle, Snow White, Mulan, Jasmine and I can't remember the 5th (my mind is drawing a blank!). The food was great too for both meals...but we actually preferred breakfast a little bit more. Plus, the photo package is great.

We were at 1900 Park Fare this past November, characters were great, but the food was probably the worst we had our whole trip. Not saying it was horrible, but not the best on Disney property, in my opinion.

I'm sure your family will love whichever you choose!

well I have said after doing 1900 park fare last trip, that I would always do that over the castle.

the dinner was fantastic. our table of 4 adults and 2 kids, all with very different tastes in food, (esp my ex sil who was there) were all completely satisfied with the meal. Everything was hot, even tho it was a buffet. The character interaction was fantastic and not rushed at all. It was our first night there, we went after arriving. the kids thought that THAT was WDW, and were completely satisfied with it. :lmao:

Now...this trip I am definately doing 1900 PF again, for dinner. And I am going to see if we can also do Akershus for breakfast one morning. The menus do not interest us for lunch or dinner, but it is boringly normal for breakfast. LOL which is what my kids and i would want.
