In June we will be taking our grandson,6 and granddaughter,8 on their first WDW trip, when I asked them the ONE thing they really wanted to do when they went I was surprised by the answer my grandson gave me. He told me that he wants to dance with Cinderella- never would have guessed that one :confused3 (I think from the commercials he sees he thinks all kids get to hug/dance with her)

So of course at this late date, I can't get into the Castle for any meal, but I do already have the Storybook lunch booked. I know there are no guarantees, but is she ever there?

We've eaten here 5x in the past 3 years, and Cinderella has been there for each meal.

You should have a good chance of seeing Cinderella, Tiger :)

I don't actually know about Cinderella appearing there (though the thought of your grandson w/ Cinderella sounds adorable!), but keep checking online reservations (or call) for the Cinderella Castle meal. I thought about taking the family to Disney last year in November and looked for online ADR's in September. It popped up immediately. You would be surprised what you can get close in to your date. When we went in Oct '08, I tried to make Chrystal Palace reservations and was told to call a week or two before our trip. I was open to any character meal at that point and we got in a reservation for 6PM at Chrystal Palace, no waiting. Keep trying, you never know! Have a great trip!

We've eaten here 5x in the past 3 years, and Cinderella has been there for each meal. Of course, no princesses are guaranteed, as they change the rotation very often here, but I think you have a great chance of seeing Cindy.

Happy eating, Tiger :)

We ate dinner at 1900 Park Faire in December and at one point while we were there, Cinderella and the Prince danced and then invited the kids to come up and dance with them. You have to be quick, because they only did this for about 3-4 minutes.

Cinderella was there both times we went to Akershus in December.

But if you can get a reservation at park fare I think that would be ideal. Cinderella and the prince danced together and also selected a child to dance with. Food was good and a fun atmosphere.

I would for sure try Park Fare instead... Cinderella is always there but is not guaranteed at Akershus. That being said I have alwasy seen her at Akershus.. but you never know. Also, the food at Park Fare might appeal to the kids in your party more. DD danced with Prince Charming 5 years ago and it was truly magical....

Another vote for 1900 Park Fare dinner to guarantee Cinderella being there! And yes, she and Prince Charming do dance together and then each invite a child to dance with them. When she comes to your table, perhaps your grandson can ask her for a dance? The characters are wonderful there! And it sounds so adorable!

My older son was 3 last time we went (he's 5 now). He was upset that we didn't get to eat in the castle, and I was surprised because the reason I didn't book the castle on that trip was because I didn't think boys would be into that. Of course I did end up booking 1900 park Fare because I had heard how funny the step-family was, and I really wanted to see Cinderella myself (I know, selfish, but hey it's my vacation too!). So DH and I said that on our next trip we will book the castle. We're going there one evening for dinner and my son is thrilled!!!! The other day, he told me that he had a dream that we were eating dinner in the castle at Disney World! :)

Love the breakfast at Akershus, never have done the lunch as the menu doesn't appeal to me. We have never seen Cindy at Akershus for breakfast. I too would try for the dinner at Park Faire and keep trying for the castle, remember it is all princess all the time now, not just breakfast!

I didn't mention 1900 PF in my above post, as she asked about Akershus, but I will say that each dinner @ 1900 PF, Cindy and her Prince do a little dance in the middle of the restaurant. It's very cute!

The Steps are funny the 1st time you see them, but after having been many times, we are starting to tire of the yelling and antics. I know this is part of their act, so for us, we can take a break as we've eaten everywhere, so no big deal for us to skip it every so often.

We have been to 1900 PF many times, and we have noticed a decline in food and service this last July trip, so we didn't eat there last month, nor are we eating there in July as the prices for this meal keep increasing.

I wish the OP luck in choosing your meal - both would be good for Cinderella, but as others mentioned, she is only guaranteed at 1900 PF.

Happy eating, Tiger :)

We ate dinner at Akershus on March 24, 2010 with our son who had turned 5 the day before. Cinderella was there. The food was excellent (I had salmon which they have as a sandwich for lunch). You'll have more of a chance of dancing with her at Akershus than at the Castle. There she is only there for pictures and I felt a bit rushed to get in, get the pictures and get the line moving (we had done it the night before).

Thank you so much for the replies! As of now we have no nights open for dinner unless I part with something else-maybe do Teppan Edo for lunch instead of dinner :confused3 and then we can get 1900 PF for dinner.
