*PIXIE DUST FILLED UPDATE 23/11*
Now I have to start by saying I have the best DFi in the world
. If it wasn't for him this trip wouldn't be happening. I went on my first solo trip to the World back in April and have been itching to go back ever since. Our wedding/Disneymoon isn't until Sept. 2010 and I was starting to get a little bummed about the prospect of waiting another 11+ months for another Disney fix. So on Saturday night I had a visit from "Santa" and his magical piece of plastic (the bringer of all things Disney)...the credit card!

He knew that's all I wanted for Christmas and told me to go to town and book a trip in January for a few days
plus my birthday falls on the 14th so it's a christmas/birthday/solo celebration all in one!
So here we are. My first PTR on the Dis.
January 3 - January 6
Flights
May not seem like im going for long but since the flight is so short from Toronto I still have almost a full day on the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th (since I don't leave MCO till 8:30 pm.
I found some great deals on WestJet and AirCanada but neither had good deals as a roundtrip...so I'll be flying out on WestJet at 8:30 am and back on Air Canada at 8:30 pm.
Out of my 10 trips to Disney I have never stayed on property (DTD area hotels for all other stays) so this will be my first experience with ME. I'm a little skeptical that a little yellow ME tag will help my bags find my room later in the day but I just need to throw my inhibitions to the wind.
Hotel
I was looking for something cheap yet close by to all the parks. Normally would book with someone like BestWesternLBV or Regal Sun DTD but the rate for the Regal Sun was the same at POP/All Star PLUS my transfer to/from MCO are included in the rate for POP/All Star so it was an easy choice.
It was now down to POP vs. ASMu. I like the rooms as ASMu (renovated recently) but the location and smaller size of POP was the winner for me (Thanks of course to lots of advice from fellow Disers
)
Dining
This was starting to worry me since my 90 day mark passed about a week ago and I wasnt too sure what I would end up with. I just can't live off of hamburgers and fries for four days so I thought what the heck why not take a look at the online dining reservations on Disney.com.
I have to first say it was so easy to use and was great for letting me see all the different options I could have. After careful consideration of park hours, EMH, and my short trip this is what I was able to get:
Jan 3 2:40pm Tony's Town Square
(Hope I can make it on time, landing 11:15am at MCO then ME to POP then bus to MK)
Jan 4 4:05pm Mama Melrose
Jan 5 5:30pm Jiko
Jan 6 9:35am Cinderella's Royal Table
Im soooo excited about that last one
I have never eaten at the castle but now im scared out of my mind eating with characters and alone. I just hope that everyone else is distracted with characters to see me dining alone. And i'm a little worried about pictures. If im paying $50 for breakfast I want pictures of my dining experience. I just hope I have a nice family sitting nearby that would be nice enough to take some pics of me with the princesses.
So that's my game plan so far. Since I just recently discovered the Dis (post April 2009 solo vacay) there are so many things that I never got to do before that I feel like I need to accomplish this time around:
1. Pictures with every character I can find
2. Autographs from characters (please tell me if i'm too old for this? turning 23 this year but think it would make for some cute pages in my scrapbook if I have some autographs)
3. See Spectromagic (in 10 trips I have NEVER seen it)
4. Ride Stitch's Great Escape (I just saw the Lilo and Stitch movie this year for the first time and fell in love with it although I hear im not missing much when it comes to the ride)
5. Meet the fairies at MK
6. Drawing class at Animation Studio at HS
7. Explore some resorts I have never seen (AKL, BW, YBC)
8. Eat solo at a character dining breakfast
9. See the Nemo show at AK
10. Ride Soarin' (for the first time ever)
11. Get a score that I don't have to be ashamed of on TSM (definatley lacking in hand/eye coordination for this)
12. Ride TestTrack 6+ times in a row (managed to ride 5 consecutive times back in April thanks to the solo rider line)
Now all that's left to do is wait!!
ps. Wow just realized how long this thing is...
...Sorry for it being so long guys I was just soo excited to share my plans!!
