Princess Weekend 2022

We arrived last night (Wednesday) but were scared off by the FB posts of the merchandise lines today and decided to push until tomorrow. I hope they restock or have something left, but I just couldn't deal with the craziness. This is my 11th race weekend, and for the first time last month (Marathon weekend), I didn't buy anything. I guess the lines are saving me money

Minor (hopefully) bus SNAFU at Boardwalk. Got to the pickup spot in front of the Conference Center around 2:55. Usually there's a bus here already or arriving shortly. 3:15 and no bus. The cast member lady is nice but says it's her first time doing this so she isn't familiar with how it's supposed to go. She's also telling people that we're the last stop of 5 and that's why it's not here yet (this has never been true for Boardwalk in all the races I've done. Dedicated busses going there, shared coming back.) Then one of the other runners saw a bus over at the lobby in the DME spot. The runner checked and came back and the driver said Yes he's runDisney. We relayed that to the CM who did nothing. Just said Oh he must be a different bus. Didn't, you know, do her job and go talk to the driver and figure things out or call someone to radio the driver. That bus ended up leaving. The CM was like Oh maybe he's coming down here to the right spot. Nope. Just left. She's still insisting we're the last of 5 stops. The runners are like So if the bus is full, we can't get on? The CM had no answers. Finally that first bus came back for round 2 at like 3:30 and I'm finally on a bus. And we were a dedicated pickup, not last stop of 5, as all the runners kept telling her.

I guess if this is my first bus SNAFU story it's pretty tame compared to drivers getting lost.

Wow, I've stayed there for almost every race weekend and never had that happen! Glad you finally got a bus.

Thankfully it ended up not being a huge deal. And I can understand a CM thinking that she has the right info vs a guest. But when it's your first time doing this and you have a group of 30 runners that have done this for years telling you that your info is wrong, maybe call it in and see what's going on?

I feel similarly. I’m going to go enjoy my morning at Epcot and go after lunch today. If they don’t have much, it wasn’t meant to be. The pins will eventually end up on EBay for me to buy anyways

We stood on line at 0.7 miles for Merida/Pocahontas/Moana for about 40 min. Literally every person starting behind us passed us (other than those in line behind us). It was kind of nice to have such open roads for the first half of the race.

G has a blast! She loved talking to all the other runners.

@DopeyBadger those costumes are awesome. you guys look fantastic. i am impressed G could wear the headpiece for a 5k. Glad she had a great time. Can't wait to read the recap.

It was so great to see you all this morning! We took our time and walked. Mom struggled but got to about the Imagination area before asking for a cart ride. They had cut off the character lines for Cinderella and Tiana and Joy/Sadness and Mickey/Donald were leaving as we went by, so we were very near the last on the course.

The CMs were great the whole way, and even scrounged up a wheelchair for us to get mom to the car comfortably.

That’s who it was! I was trying to think who I saw in place of Snow White - it was Rapunzel!

We made it with a red headband. So it was relatively comfortable.

Got to the expo at 11am.

All the magnets, ornaments and pins still in stock.

Spirit jersey only in xs and xl.

Water bottles out of stock.

challenge running jacket only in medium. All other jackets had all sizes.

All passholder items still in stocked.

Overall, they were better stocked than I thought they'd be.

Sizes VERY different than in past years. Just comparing the race weekend jacket to my marathon weekend 2018 jacket, it is significantly looser.

Caved and bought the Mulan running jacket. I'm not a fan of the color, but I love Mulan and the "run with honor" message/design. Plus it's my 1st running jacket in this style so I will use it.

I spent more time in lines than actual running that 3 princess line was a bit brutal

There was Anna switching with Elsa in Norway

Cinderella alternated with Prince Charming

I got in line for Tiana and by the time I got there it was Naveen
