Princess Weekend 2022

We were at the Expo for exactly 4 hours.

In the parking lot at 8:30
Line started moving at 9:50
We entered the merch area at 10:55 (thanks @Herding_Cats for the mobile checkout tip)
Bib pickup at 11:40
Shirt pickup at 12:00 + expo shopping. DH bought 3 pairs of goodr to balance out my excessive race shirt spending 😂
We were out at 12:30 with a nod at @Naomeri on the way out. Hope I didn't scare you!

I was at the expo for 4.5 hours. Arrived on the first bus from ASMu at 9:30, merch line started moving (for me) at 10:01, made it into the AC at 10:15, into the insane queue room at 10:30, and into merch room at 1150. Went from merch to bibs, meeting @azrivest on the way (only mildly startled, I’m not used to people knowing me at Disney 🥰), bibs was super fast, both my lines were empty. Shirts and vendors took longer because I needed to size down (yay 😁) and I bought stuff (Sparkle skirt and tiara visor) and Pandora charms. Then I grabbed chips and soda to prevent death, and walked back to the bus stop (of course the All Stars stop is the furthest one 🙄) and one pulled up about 2 minutes after I got there at 1:53.

I’m still planning a little time at MK, but may or may not actually do rides. I feel like I need a hot dog at Casey’s.

Thank you very much for your words of wisdom and inspiration. It's my first everything this weekend. Your post helped to ground and offer a very supportive lens to the weekend. Thank you.

Y'all- all the flights tomorrow are cancelled. We are now driving down, hoping to arrive by tomorrow night. Ugh... so many lessons learned. Still hoping to see y'all at the HH meet-up Sat afternoon.

Look for the chick with the "light-up butt" in a Firefly Costume for the 10K. I'll be way too generic to find me for the HM, though it'll be something Mardi Gras inspired.

Okay, off to go stuff the car with things...

My expo experiences:

Based on my photos I had my spot inside at 7:49. They started letting people into the merch area prior to 10:00. They let a large group in, and I watched them stop the line very briefly a couple times as we moved up. There was a hard stop in front of me for a few minutes, so I guess I was in the second group to be let in at 10:05.

There was a good amount of merchandise at opening. I went in with an idea of what I wanted and used the grab what you probably want and decide for sure after method. There were a few items that were going very quickly. There was one shirt I wanted that I could originally only grab in a size too big. I tried it on, and when I went to put it back they had completely restocked them and there were plenty in my size.

I did get on the passholder merchandise line. While I was on the line they announced a few times that they were out of the size S passholder spirit jersey. I don’t know if they were holding any for other days or if they were completely sold out.

I took my time trying on what I decided to buy to be sure I really liked the fit. I had to wait a few times to get to look in a mirror because I went back and forth instead of parking myself in front of it with all of my stuff.

I used mobile checkout and was out of merch by 11:20. I ended up leaving to get lunch and coming back around 2:00 for bib and shirt pickup. All of the lines I was in were short so it was a quick process.

While in the merch building I saw @DopeyBadger and conquered my shyness to say hi. I’m going to try to not be too shy and come to the prerace meetups. :goodvibes

I usually follow the race weekend threads, but I rarely post. I have done 7 race weekends and got my first flight cancellation for a race. I signed up for the challenge and was scheduled to fly out early tomorrow morning, but southwest cancelled my flight from Indy. I was able to get an evening flight with Frontier, but I am not going to be able to make the Expo.
So I am sure the answer is no, but there will be no way for me to run the 10k?

You can pick up a bib that day, my flight got delayed for my disneyland run, I did not get in till after midnight and I could pick it up the day. I think at guest services or information stand. But yes you can, just explain the situation.

To add, make sure to arrive early the morning of the 10k and have your ID with you. Head to the information tent and they should have your bib. You’ll still have to go to the expo to get your free shirts.

Three 5K bibs, 457xx (2) & 456xx, estimate 10-12mm and got S2!

My mom is going to play it by ear if we start in S2 as she usually takes a bit to get warmed up and we will probably walk the whole thing. We may drop back to be out of people's way. See you at the meetup! I'll be in this.
