PRINCESS Palooza 2011! 9/9 Update: Departure Day

YAY, on the Planning! You must be busier than all the bee's in the world!:lmao:

Speaking of BOG, I found this thread and while I haven't read though it yet so forgive me if you've seen it,

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2911422

And you were there! LOL

LOL! Sounds like you know what this is like! :lmao:

I am subscribed to that thread already. I pop into the dining reservation board every now and then to see if there's any news.

I wasn't going to make Katie a new Belle gown for this trip, but my friend just booked their own trip for the same week and decided the girls absolutely HAVE to wear gold Belle gowns to dinner. Katie's good with it since her friend wants to. But I don't want t remake those gowns so we're just going with them, even if they're a couple inches too short. I'll just take all our photos from the ankles up! :lmao:

I better get cracking on this trip report so you guys can see the girls together in their yellow gowns from last year's trip first!

FUN!!!!

I'd love to go back at that time of year but DH won't have anything to do with it. Something about the importance of education... :confused3

I dunno.

Heck, I'd just be happy to get him to commit to next May for SWW. I know exactly how everything would fall into place - rent points, buy tickets from UT, go for 7 days (yes 7!), etc. However, DH won't commit until he knows what the profit share check will be. That means our chances for getting a decent resort (EP area) will be slim to none since the person we'll be renting the points from isn't DVC but RCI who can use points for DVC but I think the cancellation policy is 95% different.

It's really driving me nuts knowing should I? Shouldn't I?

I feel for you. I just recently read a thread on renting points. It's all pretty foreign to me, so I didn't realize you had to rent so FAR out. Heck I thought 6 months out for dining ADRs was early.

I hope you get the information you need soon so you can start planning with some certainty!

Couldn't you just add a little gold fabric at the bottom?

Or put a brick on Katie's head...

Yeah, it's going to be crazy.

I was just texting DH that DS HAD to send a text to his friend who just arrived on property. I made the push and he said that we should just go ahead and start planning! :yay:

DVC is getting really big, but hopefully since he has committed, we won't have any trouble getting into BWV. I guess if I have to, I'll try BC or YC, but I really want BWV. Norma already has one exchange trip under her belt, so hopefully it won't be that big of a deal.

Now I have to figure out a way to pay for it all. This year's 4-H fair judging money will be going towards E's wedding in August and I won't have another round of fairs before the trip. I'll have to rely on my freelance photography to pay for it. It would really help to book a wedding or three!

Hopefully BoG will be open for our trip. It would be a must do if it gets done in time.

I also saw on FB today that BBB has opened up a new package called the "Crown" package for $89.95. Sounds like a pretty good deal since you get a t-shirt and a tutu plus all the salon stuff.

Read about it here.

Yeah..... I like the brick idea. But I had already considered adding some fabric to the bottom of the dress. Now that I have developed a back lace-up design, it's not as critical how the rest fits. I'll retrofit with with the lace-up. Usually I never pass up the chance to make something new. But I sort of shot the wad on ideas for that last Belle and would just love to see her wear it again, this time sans funky hair! :lmao:

I had seen the stuff on the new BBB package. I think we've got other plans though. I'm so glad the girls can do it together one last time. Not sure if we'll do the Pirate's League this trip, but if we don't it will be a must for our next trip.

So when will your trip be?

This time next year. DH wants to go to SWW and we are out of school on May 24 again. Kind of odd to end on a Friday (we hardly ever do, but...) I'm assuming I'll do a buffer in case we get caught in weather this year (we didn't use a single snow day this year) and maybe leave Wed. 5/29/13.

Sure, we'll miss the mine train coaster and evidently we'll not see the new Princess Royal Hall opened (they pushed that opening back almost a full year...), but c'est la vie. DH is itchin' to go and I'm not going to tell him no.

DD wants to do BBB but DS wants no part of Pirate League. I asked him what he wants to do and his response was that he wants to buy a pirate costume from the POTC gift shop. That's all he wants.

Don't blame you. After the uncertainty, I'd be all over that too! I wouldn't wait for th mine train either. That's WAY too long to wait when your kids are aging! :lmao: Doesn't he know they come with expiration dates, and you have to do as much Disney as possible before..... say.... age 13?????? :lmao:

SWW sounds awesome. I'd LOVE to see those Stormtroopers marching down the street.... but doubt I could handle the heat. Nix that. I KNOW I couldn't handle the heat.

So I FINALLY got my hands on Cortlyn's "Brave" book and that was no better help. Seriously, in the book, the dress is dark blue, tealish and hunter green. :sad2:

I just found and caught up on this and your last TR! Your daughter is beautiful! Can't believe how much more grown up she looks this trip! Her costumes and outfits are all amazing!

Um... the other day, we were talking about Jungle Cruise and DH was trying to get DD to talk about the animals on the ride. DS5 - stone faced - just said, "Daddy, you know those animals on Jungle Cruise are fake right? The real animals are at Animal Kingdom!"

My Disney window is shrinking. He's made no mention of the characters being different. I may cry if he ever says it out loud.

May isn't terrible heat-wise. If anything, it's not too bad being at DHS. EVERYTHING is inside there! :rolleyes1

I do know that I need to start procuring ideas for DD for clothes. I'd like to dress her up in stuff that's not store bought. The question is if I'll have the time.

I want the Rapunzal set and the Mary Poppins dress is amazing. Congrats to Katie on graduating from 5th grade!

Love your Disney transport pics! Actually I love all your pics but those are cool the way you got Monorail and bus in the one.

Well, that helps. I think teal was what I ended up deciding on as the shade. I've done some hunting around. I'm leaning toward a teal panne velvet. I just haven't seen anything else close. I'm not a huge fan of working with panne velvet, but I want something with some texture to it.

Thanks so much and :welcome:

She really is growing up fast. Some days she looks like a teenager, then some days she still looks like a little girl.

LOL! :lmao: Out of the mouths of babes......... Not to worry. You still have a nice large Dinsey window..... Now ME...... that's another story.....

Trust me..... I know exactly how you feel!

We WERE going with just 1 or 2 costumes, but now I have more to do since our friends are going at the same time! :cool1: Which puts me officially ......... behind. :scared1: I need to get cracking!

Thanks Petals! Mary turned out to be my favorite costume of the entire trip.

And thanks for the kind comments on the photos. I enjoyed hanging out at the bus stop trying to find interesting shots. Well, I didn't just hang out there.....we WERE waiting for a bus....... I guess not many people leave the MK at 1 PM. It felt like we were all alone..........

12/15 Continued:

When I left off, Katie and I had just spent the morning in the Magic Kingdom, but were headed back to the resort since our friends were on their way to meet us for the next phase of the trip. :cool1:

Thankfully Kim and McKenna's flight was on time and they arrived at the Pop Century around 4:30. Katie was dying to swim with her friend. Kim brought them matching swimsuits so they headed for the pool in style!

They would have been happy to forget about all that Disney stuff and just swim the night away, but I eventually dragged them out. We needed to get ready for some stepsister fun!

I had made Katie Drizella costume for our 2010 trip. Early in 2011, when we started planning a trip, I went ahead and made Katie a similar version of Anastasia. When Kim finally committed to meeting us on the trip, I knew we'd be doing 1900 Park Fare together. Katie's Drizella would work for McKenna, but it was a little snug. So I turned the back into a lace-up version to allow some extra room.

We decided to split the cost of a taxi so we could arrive in plenty of time, while minimizing McKenna's walking. A few weeks before the trip she broke her foot and had a boot on it. She hobbled around pretty well, but no need to push our luck. We arrived at the Grand Floridian around 6:35 for our 7:20 ADR. That gave us just enough time to check out the gingerbread house and the gift shops.

Here's the best Disney loving friend ever.....Kim! She loves the Basin shop so we had to make a stop there....

After stopping into the gift shop on an elf mission for Carey, we headed off to check in for dinner.

Love the matching suits. The stepsister dresses are so fun! I am amazed at your talent

Love the girls step sister's gowns - you are amazing! Can't wait to see your pictures of the girls with the Tremaines.

Hi, just joining in! Spent the weekend reading when I should have been packing. Ooops! Love all of Katie's dresses. I cannot believe you made all of them! Cannot wait to see how this trip ends! Traveling with friends can be so much fun!

I bet Disney with a friend is a whole other way to see it. Especially for 2 girls dressed as awesomely as Katie and her friend. They looked like they were having a blast, I hope Kadence has that much fun next year with her cousin.

Kadence's favorite picture is the girls making their stepsister faces!:lmao:

An Elf mission that was very much appreciated, :worship: and well loved the the recipient! :lovestruc
