We have been home one week, and already are dying to get back! We had an awesome trip, much in part to these great boards. So in an effort to give back I am going to leave my first trip report. So bear with me!

The specifics:

Who: Myself (33) and DD's (8 and 9)

When: July 7th - July 14th

Where: Pop Century

How: Airplane from Syracuse to Orlando

Why: We hadn't been since our first trip in Jan 2001

OK....Our flight took off with out any issues or trouble at 6:20 am from Syracuse, NY. We landed in Orlando at 10:42 am. Girls and I were able to immediately get our luggage and head for the rental car line. We rented a economy car from Dollar for 8 days for $206. In hind sight I will never do this again. Dollar was fine but just like these boards said we really didn't need it. I was a little nervous being so far away with girls alone and no transportation. But Disney transportation was awesome, next time the $200 will be better spent! :) We were in our rental car and leaving MCO by noon. Had a little "woman" driver syndrome leaving the airport. I am terrible with directions, and was trying to find a walmart. Yikes!!! Wasn't quite prepared for all the construction either, that made it hard to. At 1:00 pm we were on 192 still no Walmart but very hungry. So we stopped at Friendly's for lunch. The restuarant was packed and only two girls waiting tables. No problem we were ready to eat and relax. We left Friendly's at 2:30 just as the biggest thunderstorm I have ever seen (WOW) hit. This made my driving even worse! :) We spotted the walmart but I was on the wrong side of the road and it was raining so hard we decided just to try and make it to the Pop. We were in the check in line by 3:00, and probably waited 15 minutes. The CM who checked us in was fabulous! I explained that I was traveling alone with my children and a great room location would be greatly appreciated. Also I need a fridge for my youngest daughter's allergy meds. They provide one at no charge!!! That saved us $120.00!!!! We also were placed in room 1138 in the 50's building. First floor, right next to classic hall and both pools, and directly in front of parking lot! :) So unloading all of our stuff was a breeze. Since the rain was still pouring down in buckets, we decided to buy e-ride night tickets and take a long nap. After purchasing the e-ride tickets, I asked the cm to check for any openings to breakfast in the castle knowing what a long shot it was. And a dpse of pixie dust came floating down, how about Saturday at 8:10am? What!!!!! Fantastic!!! Surprise #2 for DD's (e-ride night was #1).
Nice long nap, (we had been up since 4am) and we were on the bus to MK by 8pm. Upon entering the park we got our wrist bands and headed of course to Fantasy Land. We rode dumbo, snow white . carousel, and then headed over to Tomorrowland to do the tram( my youngest loves this!! go figure) and then scoped out a good spot on the bridge for wishes. Of course we loved wishes, but tink did not fly because of the storms. After the show girls were thinking we were headed to the buses, and I then explained that we could ride until 1am!!! Yippee!! and ride we did! Tons of fun. And Philarmagic was the absolutely the best!!! We were in bed by 2am...wow what a day.

We indeed slept in the next am, now on day two I really need to find that walmart, so we headed out to Waffle House for breakfast, and to do some shopping. Today we found the Walmart no problem bought our necessities and headed back to the Pop. It was HOT!!!!!!!!!! Being from upstate New York we were not used to this kind of heat. So we decided to spend the heat of the day at the Pool. Another great decision. We decided to spend the evening at MGM and were there by 6pm. We rode the great movie ride, saw the little mermaid show, did some browsing and characters, then decided to stake out seats for 9pm Fantasmic. And then the rain!!! So we whipped out our ponchos and sat and dripped. Lots of people left, and I thought well we certainly aren't going to get any dryer by going back to the bus, so we waited it out. Chatted with some lovely people and sure enough about 30 minutes later no rain and in 15 minutes the show started!!! It was one of our highlights of the whole trip. We had never seen it before and wow!!! It was great.

Well I will break for now and continue later....I hope you all enjoy.
