Princess Mya's Magical Wish Trip!!!!!!! - Trip Report Complete!!!

You go Maroo!! I was just trying to figure out what we could do about that CRT!

Your plans look great...with one major issues...maybe? You have 4 days where you are going to Disney Parks...they only give you enough tickets for three days at GKTW...so you will have to pay for that extra day. That may not be a huge deal to you guys, but it is going to be about $75 per ticket or close to that...if you do 4 days in the Disney parks....

I am sorry...I feel like that may be bad news...I know you want to spread it out and take it easy. I wish Disney offered more days.

And I am working on CRT for you...I have a few irons in the fire to help with that ressie.

It's funny, I was just going over my plans and I was thinking of getting rid of our DHS day since they don't really have anything that Mya is really interested in. Though I didn't know only three days worth of tickets for Disney, so thank's Maroo. Again I feel as if I would be lost without this board and the great people that make up this board. When I read your post about wanting to help with the CRT ressies I literally cried. Its like this trip coming together like this is God sent.

I'm so sorry to hear the news about Mya. We will be praying for her.

I'm glad that you got your dates pushed up. Keep checking in the wish trippers thread. I'm sure you will get tons of tips to help you guys get through July in Disney.

One thing about your schedule.....
Does Mya watch any playhouse Disney shows? There is a show (about 20 minutes) at DHS that she might like... the Playhouse Disney show. Also there is Beauty and the Beast at DHS and and silly as it might sound- the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play ground. My DD loves that playground. The first time she played there she was 2. The next trip to Disney she kept asking us when we were going to that playground. LOL

I know you made a ressie at Garden Grill but there isn't a whole lot for kids (especially 2yr olds) to do at Epcot. Although if you walk through the world showcase there are characters in almost every country. Plus my daughter loved Spaceship Earth and the Kidcot stops on our last trip. I'm not trying to bash your plans but if I only had 3 days in the parks (with a 2yr old) I might skip Epcot.

I have another thought... or two

Friday, July 17 - Pirate and Princess Party at GKTW that night, you should already be there for that. What time do you arrive? Hopefully you can catch the afternoon orientation.

On Sunday July 19th...There is the Candyland Party - it is an awesome party on a great playground and perfect for Mya's age...she will love that playground.

As far as which park...MK will be the best, best for her age and you may find you need a day and a half, especially if you spend time eating, etc...maybe even 2 full days.

I know you guys are going to have issues with the heat...because it will be hot...but I am wondering if you could go as early as you can (there are activities at GKTW that you won't want to miss even for park time) and then maybe rest in the Wish Room (at MK) or the Seimens Lounge (Epcot) or First Aid (any other park)... Also, there are shows and things that are inside...most of the lines are also sort of covered...

I am going to work on a list of good afternoon hot activities for each park and see if I can get that ready by the time you go. Or see if someone on the DIS has already made a list...

Mya never watches Playhouse Disney. She is just not interested in it. Her heart belongs to Nick Jr. and Dora. Ironically though she likes watching Phineas and Ferb, Hannah Montana, and the shows geared to the older children. As for the shows at DHS, Mya hates anything that involves sitting for long periods of time as she is a highly active two year old. The two times I have taken her to the movies, she had to have a aisle to herself so she can run up and down while watching the movie. As for the playground at DHS, when we go on our trip Mya will most likely have a weakened immune system from her last round of chemo and her red blood and platelet counts might be low at the time. So playgrounds are really out of the question. Therefore DHS really has nothing that will interest Mya. Epcot on the othe other hand has the various Nemo attractions, Journey into Imagination, and the World Pavillin offers natural settings where she can run around. So I am going to switch DHS with SeaWorld. That was the only park my mom wanted to do and I previously told her no as there was no way to cram that in. But now we will be able too. My main goal is to go down there and relax. Seeing every park and everything is just not a priority. I pray that one day I will be able to take Mya back there and we will be able to do whatever we missed this trip.

We are definitly doing all of the GKTW activities except for Mayor Clayton's B-Day party. I plan to deal with the heat by doing the parks in the morning and then go back to GKTW in the afternoon to let Mya and relax. On our MK day, I had planned to utilize the Wish lounge for Mya to cool down and nap, so we can spend more time in that park. I don't really want the Crystal Palace ressie, I only booked it because CRT was not available. So if you can get us in CRT, I will cancel Crystal Palace. I will really appreciate that hot afternoon activity list though.

I think I would leave out DHS if I had to leave out a park. But I really like epcot! ;) We went to DW when my DD was 2 and when she was 3 and she really enjoyed epcot. One thing you can do in epcot on hot afternoons is hang out in the Living Seas area. You can do the Nemo ride, Turtle Talk with Crush, and hang out indoors looking at all the sea life in the aquariums. My kids love the character meets at World Showcase, the yummy snacks around there, and the kidcot stations.

I hear ya!!!!
I know there is fun stuff to see at Epcot. As a PP said Turtle Talk with Crush is awesome, and Finding Nemo will be soooo nice on a hot summer day. Also Mya might like the Gran Fiesta tour in Mexico, and Living with the Land. I know what you mean about staying away from playgrounds. For over a year we kept our DD away from playgrounds, grocery stores, malls, and just people in general. We had a strict visiting policy that I'm sure our family thought we might be nuts. But it was for the health of our DD. I hope you realize I was just making a suggestion. :goodvibes

OK! I will take ANY CRT ressie that I can find for your dates... But are you still thinking you will do Disney parks on the 18th, 19th and 20th?

I do think you guys would like Crystal Palace, too...if you are able to keep both ressies? If she likes those characters.

I have posted a request for hot afternoon activities that will hopefully help you plan some.

Our days for Disney will be on the 18, 19, and 20th. The only reason why I dont want to keep CP is because I really don't want Mya in the parks during the hot late afternoons but I will consider taking your advice. It all depends on how Mya's counts are doing.

That makes perfect sense!

Are you taking a stroller for her? That has a shade thing? (What do you call those things?)

And do you guys have a mister fan?

Crystal Palace is in the front of MK and it is, of course, air conditioned and away from the elements. Then maybe you could duck out after lunch...if you decide to even go to CP.

Honestly...no matter what any of us suggest...you know Mya best and what will work for you guys...go with your gut!

And don't feel bad AT ALL if you are not able to keep a reservation.

Would you rather do CP for breakfast instead? If we could get a breakfast ressie? Those are hard to get, too...but I can try for that at the same time I am calling for CRT. :confused3

I would love a ressie for breakfast at CP, but you are right they are very hard to get. If you can get that it would be great. I am planning to rent a stroller from a stroller renting company or bring our own one from home. The mister fan is also at the top of my packing list. Do you know where I can get some Crocs for the adults?

I usually get mine at a sporting goods store. Here in MS we have several, but I have seen them at Sports Authority and Bass Pro Shop. But I don't know if you guys have those stores up there? Most of the discount stores (WalMart, Target) have fake crocs, but that is not what you want...you want to pay the extra for the real thing in this case. :thumbsup2 That extra cushion makes a big difference!

Good thing you told me this because I was seriously considering going to Walmart for them. The nurse at Mya's hospital told me that she got her online at crocs.com. If Modells doesn't have them I'll prob go there.

I'm fairly new to the site but came across your story. I'm so glad you were able to get your trip dates moved up and you have such great plans. Aren't the folks here the best?

I'm still waiting on dates so I can't wait to plan. SOOO excited. Can't wait to see pics and hear about your trip!

Your PTR is so very touching! You seem like a great mother and Mya is lucky to have such a caring person in her life through this tough time. I will keep you both in my prayers!

Just a quick thought of mine, when i get really hot in EPCOT, one place thats great to go is the aquariums in the Living Seas, above the Nemo ride. They are air conditioned and have lots of fish, sea turtles, manatees etc, to look at. Most of all no matter what you do you will have a great time being in Disney with your daughter!:cloud9:

We have a change in Adr's. The great and wonderful Maroo was able to get us CRT!!!:cool1::cool1: The ressie is for July 18, 11:50 am. So I cancelled our ressies to Crystal Palace and switched the Garden Grill ressie to the 19th. Which works out better since the Sunday ADR is for an earlier time. We also got our flight confirmation in the mail and the confirmation hat we are staying at GKTW. Our departing flight is July 17 at 9:55 am and we will land in Orlando at 12:35 pm. Our return flight is leaving July 23 at 5:00 pm and lands in Philadelphia at 9:00 pm. I wanted to start our trip early and leave late so these plans worked out perfectly. Also I just want to say if I had never joined this thread, Mya's wish would have been special but nothing compared to what is happening and I am overwhelmed by all the kindness showed to us. I get so excited everytime I think of the fun Mya will have on this trip. I will not be posting or be on this site for the next 6 days because tommorrow Mya and I are going to Camp Sunshine in Maine. I will check this site and post pics of any packages we may get when we return.

Have a great time at Camp Sunshine!

You know we want to hear all about it when you get back.

Will someone be checking your mail while you are gone...there will definitely be a package there when you get back.:rolleyes1

And MAROO is awesome! As a matter of fact, I just MET MAROO in person! II met her & Lauren and Lisa at the store I work at. They are all fabulous people...I am glad she scored the CRT ressie!

Lynn

Yippee!!! Congrats on getting CRT! It sounds like everything is really coming together.

Have fun at Camp Sunshine and cajunfan is right -- we can't wait to hear all about it.

:goodvibes:cool1:
