Princess Half Marathon Weekend 2025 (Feb 20-24 2025)

My Personal 2024-25 runDisney Season Update

- 2024 Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon Weekend: Chills & Thrills Challenge and 5K
- 2025 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend: Fairy Tale Challenge
- 2025 Springtime Surprise Weekend: Springtime Surprise Challenge

Going into this season, I wanted to give myself a rest from Full Marathon training. I trained for the Dopey Challenge the last 3 Falls and it took a toll on my body. My personal favorite race weekend is Wine & Dine. However, it is very close to Halloween, so decided to give that race weekend a break too. Instead, I decided to take on the Disneyland's first Halloween themed weekend and do the entire Springtime Surprise Challenge. I ended up signing up for the Disney Princess Half Marathon too.

Finished the entire Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon Weekend last month. It was a well themed weekend. The 10K may have been one of the best themed races that I have done that was themed to the Haunted Mansion. The only downside to the entire weekend was that the average high was 105 degrees each day, which is a little unusual for that time of year in Anaheim.

Going into that weekend, I was suffering from plantar fasciitis fairly bad. Obviously, it got worse through the weekend. I ended up having to stop all exercise activity to recover for about a month, except specific stretches and strengthening exercises for the calves and foot. Through October, I have been doing long 2-3 mile walks to get back into the groove of things. I will finally do my first run on 10/30 to start training for Spring 2025 for both the Disney Princess and Springtime Surprise weekends!

If they don’t announce medals in time for Thursdays expo, I will be shocked. I know they’ll probably release them tomorrow, but the wait is killing me!

For those of you that have stayed at the Swan/Dolphin - where do the buses pick up after the race? With the Disney buses in the post race area or in the normal bus pickup spot? Trying to decide if I want my park reservation for Epcot to walk back post race or magic kingdom (where I want to go that day). I used the bus from the Signia once and it was the normal bus pickup and we had to wait for all the runners to pass before we could cross (which makes sense!). It probably would take as long to walk back as just standing there and being patient. Or could I just get on a beach club or boardwalk bus?

The S/D race buses pick up where all the other runDisney buses pick up from :thumbsup2 (At the resort, I believe the bus stops at the main lobby entrance instead of the bus depot where the park buses stop, same as how it works at many of the Disney resorts to avoid clogging the bus stop with runD busses)

If I do not stay at Walt Disney World Resort, is there a shuttle that will pick me up for my runDisney event?

Disney transportation is only available for Guests staying in a hotel at Walt Disney World Resort, Shades of Green® or Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort. Check with your hotel for shuttle service to the event or consider a private car service option.

Great, thanks!

I’m afraid to see the medals. I really wanted Snow White but it sold out before I had a chance to register and telegram is just to fast for me. 😢. I’m afraid I am going to love it. 🫣

Well dang, these are good. Having a little bit of challenge fomo now....
HM and challenge look like spinners...5k is reversible like the last starwars (virual) 5k....wonder what the back of the 10k looks like, if anything.

Really love the challenge medal, and I’m really happy they all have distinctive shapes. Not really digging the 10k medal, but these are definitely the best Princess medals in the last several years.

I sent DH the link to the medals and was like "Ooooh look at the pretties!" and was told that we could discuss it since the sellers for our newest dvc contract are going on 2 weeks to return their docs, which means we are highly unlikely to get them in time to apply to our upcoming MW stay. But HEY! I could always use them for PW, right? Race weekend for the cost of a registration and flights?

Not so fast. There's 0 studio availability, and there are only like 3 options for 1brs, and only for Saturday night. *sigh* It was a nice thought while it lasted.

This is the problem with Princess -- those dates are popular with travelers already! Tough to get rooms if you haven't booked pretty far out. This is where my new situation is going to be dangerous. My mom is moving to Celebration in a few weeks, so I'll always have a guest room available for random race weekends! Maybe I can convince her to run an underground Airbnb room for DISers??

We stay at shades of green, and it feels like I'm making reservations for the next year as soon as I cross the finish line for the half.
