Princess Half Marathon Weekend 2025 (Feb 20-24 2025)

I'm now starting to over think my travel plans. I booked with Southwest to travel the Thursday before the race weekend, and then they changed my flight time from early to stupid early. It's so early I'm questioning whether it's worth trying to get any sleep that night. My parents suggested I get a hotel room by the airport since I live about two hours away, and now I'm thinking if I do that, should I switch my flight to Wednesday evening and just stay at a hotel by MCO? So now I'm looking at flight times Wednesday afternoon and hotels in Orlando.

That's not a bad idea. For Springtime Surprise this year, it ended up being cheaper for me to fly down on Southwest on a Tuesday evening and get an extra night at Pop than it would've been to fly down stupid early Wednesday morning, plus it had the advantage of giving me a full day of Disney on Wednesday instead of less than half a day

I used to do this a lot coming from out west. I could take a flight after work that got in just before midnight. Rather than "waste" DVC points, I'd grab a cheap hotel near the airport and drive down to Disney nice and fresh in the morning.

Exactly. Southwest doesn't have much selection in the evening, but it would mean I could take my time that morning. Plus I'll be able to join the merchandise queue when it opens.

I've been tracking the periodic reopening of Princess to try to get into the HM for a few weeks now and finally caught it at the right time, only to fill out my information too slow and get shut out before payment processed.
  • at this point, can I register, then add PoT later?
  • Is there any way to save to my rundisney account my emergency contact and PoT? I think it autofilled my name but that was it.
Thanks for any wisdom, this would be my first RD race!

If you're registering after the POT deadline (which was September 1), you'll need to enter that when you register. You won't be able to edit that field later. I don't think you can save info to your rD account, but you can create a separate doc with all your details and just copy and paste from there. Not quite as efficient, but should save you a little time.

What is the best/easiest in the morning Disney resort hotel to stay in before the race?

Honestly any on-site resort is good for race morning and all will have easy transportation to the race staging area by bus in most cases. Stay where you like to stay.

That said you may want to take into consideration the size of the resort for proximity to where the bus will pick up. If you're on the monorail, that is only available for the longer distances (HM, 10 Miler, marathon). Shorter distances are always by bus. You can not walk to the staging area no matter what resort you choose.

Since today is my first day of training, let me just say… where are the medals? Last year they were announced October 9. I need something to visualize!

Disneyland was posted today so unless they don’t do a “medal Monday” or they reveal them next Monday along with wine & dine expo pass it won’t be until November

Normally I would say don't count on a reveal the week of another race, BUT... Chances are good(?) that they are planning to have them on display at W&D Expo. I would think they want to reveal online before pics show up from attendees.

That’s what I was thinking as they usually have princess out in November however I’m sure they will have present weekend, MW, DLH, and probably Christmas & Valentine virtual already on display so who knows
