We are going to the Princess Classics Disney on Ice tomorrow night and I was wondering if it was common for the girls to wear their princess costumes. I personally don't think it would be really comfortable so I planned on the girls wearing their Cinderella and Tink long sleeve t-shirts and ponchos (from the Disney Store) with pants...but I also think if they get there and see a million other little girls in costumes they might feel left out. Am I over-thinking this? I just think the princess outfit (NOT the costume) makes more sense but was wondering what popular opinion was on the subject:)

If I were going I'd have my daughter wear the princess dress. Put clothes underneath it because it is cold at ice shows. I bet there will be lots of little girls dressed up.

we went to the incredibles on ice and there were LOTS of kids wearing incredibles costumes. I think I'd let them wear the dresses! :teeth:

I'd dress them up. Put tights or warm pants underneath, and perhaps take a sweater, as their feet will be cold.

My neighbors took their twin girls (3 1/2) to Princesses on ice the first week of October. She had recently bought the girls a Belle and Cinderella costume to wear for Halloween, and at the last minute, she decided to put the girls in the costumes, shoes and all. She told me afterward that she was SOOOOO glad she did! SO MANY girls were dressed up, my neighbor knew if her girls had gotten there and seen all the other "princesses" dressed up, they would have had a fit that they WEREN'T!

Funny side note--on the way out of the show, the girls were both really tired, so mom and dad were carrying them in the parking lot. The twin in the Cinderella costume lost one of her "glass slippers" as she was being carried to the car, and she started calling out, "Daddy, my shoe! My shoe!" Many people nearby, who were sitting in their cars, waiting in line to leave the parking lot, got a good laugh out of "Cinderella" losing her shoe. :)

We took our DDs to this show and did NOT dress them up. There were some dressed up, but definitely not the majority. I know they wouldn't be comfortable, and it would be more difficult. DDs are aged 4 and 1.5, and 4yo didn't even mention it. They went, wanted to see the real princesses, get a toy and watch the show. Although, I'm not planning on dressing them up for CRT either when we go to disney. To me, knowing my girls, they enjoy it anyway, and I think even moreso just being comfy.

We did not dress up but many others were the girls(4 and 2 ) did not say anything about wanting their dresses or anything. Do what you feel is best.

Definitely dress them up!

We went last week and TONS of little girls were decked out in their costumes. My niece (5) had hers on and was THRILLED to pieces with all the attention she got. My older niece (8) was a little jealous that she didn't have a costume I think, though she is kind of out of the dress up stage. She did have on a Disney sundress (with tights and a long sleeved shirt underneath though). I bought them glow bracelets/necklaces at Walmart too, and they were thrilled with those too.

My girls did, with a layer of clothes underneath. However, there are many girls that don't wear them. I figured I didn't want to hear them complaining about not having them, and if they wanted them off, I was able to take them off.

We took DD (4 years old) and her friend and they both dressed up. I am so glad we did because there was 1,000 of dressed princess little girls and it was SOOOOOOOOO cute. It was really neat.

They did layer with normal cothes under it so they could take it off if they watned too.

It was really cute. Let them dress up.

Also bring your own sovinors if you want (light spinners) and such. They sell them there, but they aren't as nice as WDW or even Disney store and they cost a lot more.

I am going to try to find my post on the review of when I took my DD and link it to this if I can.

Edited to add, here is the link if you are interested.

Have a great time! :goodvibes

If your girls love to wear their princess dresses then let them. My daughter wore hers and loved looking just like Cinderella.
