This may seem like a silly question, but when your little princesses wear their dresses to the parks, what kind of shoes do they wear with them? My princess will not wear tennis shoes with her dress (at 4 she is already very fashion conscious

). Anyone have any suggestions? Obviously the plastic princess shoes will not work! Thanks!

Crocs....my dd4 wears coordinating Crocs. Hot pink to match the pink roses on bells dress....blue with snow white, etc. They are comfortable and cute.

That said...if she's not into Crocs or doesn't like this look, how about some basic white sandals?

I let my dd choose. Either she can wear the dress with her regular sandals (Keens), or she can't wear it at all. If she chooses to wear it, then she chooses to wear comfortable shoes. It's just the way we do stuff around here.

I know what you mean....My girls would never wear gym shoes with a dress, especially a princess dress!! They usually wear either nice, white sandals, sparkly flip flops (and change) or if it's colder black maryjanes. I am a shoe freak and buy them nice quality maryjanes for school shoes like Dr. Martens, Keen or Born, so they are comfy for walking around in. No way would they wear those plastic shoes in the parks.

Dd wears white sandels with her princess dresses. The shoes disney sells to go with the princess dresses never seem to fit her right.

I found at the Disney stor in the mall that they had leather slippers that were more like shoes, I go them for $3.00. byt he end of the tip she had worn the soles out but her shoes mathed & her feet were comfy wtih no blisters & for $3.00 who cares!!!!!! :goodvibes :thumbsup2

I found my DD an inexpensive pair of leather tennis shoes and bought fat sheer ribbon to use as the laces. Comfy and cute.

DD likes to wear her jelly Princess shoes, but after about an hour, I can usually get her to change into her white sandals. She rides in the stroller most of the time, so she doesn't really walk in them that much. She barely has any wear on them. Once the novelty wears off, we switch to sandals. She's happy, I'm happy.

I second the Crocs, that is all my DD5 wore on our recent trip. A family member said they would have bought her princess shoes to go with the dress if they knew she didn't bring them. My response was no way Crocs and Disney go hand in hand in our family. I will treasure the pictures of her in her dress and Crocs.

My DD is the same way about matching her shoes. But we went to Target (this was in January) and found white leather sneakers with charms on the laces, and they were ok because they were fancy enough to wear with dresses. Unfortunately her feet are wide, so we found some at Stride Rite for more than twice the Target price. But the fancy charms made them ok for her.

Thanks for all the great ideas! I'm thinking the leather sneakers will be the best idea - I'll get her some lacy socks to wear with them, see if I can find some sheer ribbon laces, maybe get some charms to dress them up. Thanks again!
